I noticed all those things about female bias, not much function, unreliable etc. Generally the rule with psychological aspects is check for any decreased function which they seemed to have. One of them mentioned that they has suffered significant relational trauma. I was just doing a parenting course and they said they would do things then they didn't then they said wait until next years course. Though they seemed reasonable as people just functioning at a characteristic non functional biased level.

I couldn't agree with Michael Doherty more. I was refereed after a trauma incident the alleged therapist started asking me questions and writing things down, I explained that it's painful and I don't want to spill my guts on an admission form, and asking what services I could get and if I could start to talk to someone regularly, I was probed for answers until she had a satisfactory form filled. Then she informed me that they could not offer me assistance here as they had no places avaialable due to the legal nature of my circumstance(assuming I was the respondent in the DV case because I am a man even though I had clearly explained that I was the aggrieved(which I was coerced to open up about anyway so it should have made that obvious). I politely explained that I was in fact the victim so she tolerated me a few more moments before assuring me there were no places to treat me at the centre. When I asked why at the begging of the interview I was not told that, and why she made me go through the whole trauma only to fill out a form? she just frowned and and robotically apologised about that. I was up all night and couldn't sleep as a result of that conversation. The next day I went to the GP that was recommended to me by the centre. At the end of my appointment I find it's not a bulk bulled doctor and so I have to pay. What a joke, what a scam. Why would you ever refer me to a doctor I have to pay for when the government pays on my behalf?Luckily the GP had a heart and let it slide. If you care about your mental health, if you really want helpstay FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR away from this mobI'm not exactly sure what they do here but I am certain they don't help with counselling or supportI have been to many cousiling and support centres over the last 10 years and I assure you this was the least empathetic and most detrimental experience I've ever had seeking medical help

This centre touts itself as some kind of open, all-encompassing, professionally run service but in reality, especially if you're a man, its anything but. When I inquired about the qualifications of their staff, I was blocked from further email communication. I found them to be INCREDIBLY biased against men, in fact an employee was quoted to say, “Don’t worry, we only take the woman’s side” to a female friend who'd also used their services. Their primary agenda is to sustain their own funding. They have zero regard for any male client's emotional integrity, social standing or financial future. They actively and quite shamelessly work to increase the divide between couples having problems, pitting the aggrieved female against the male's friends and family. Locally, they are shunned by parallel (PROFESSIONALLY qualified) services and despite the high-profile they seem to enjoy, are infamous for their destructive capacity to foster fear and division. I would NOT recommend this service to anyone, and advise alternative counselling through ANY other means available.UPDATE: I note none of the reviews have received a response and that more positive reviews are glaringly absent. Draw your own conclusions.

So my take on this service is a personal one. The counsellors are trustworthy. They do not MAKE me feel inferior. They for me have been empowering. They have helped me find direction where I had none. Kept me afloat whilst I was unmoored. Helped me see and still now see that I am NOT crazy. They for me are not judgemental. They trust me and in turn I trust the service and what they stand for. It's not equality that I am after but acceptance. They have allowed me to believe in me again. Theae are just a few of the many traits that I have gleaned from this service. I want to say thank you. So thank you.
