Real potatoes for chips, fresh and tasty fish cooked with a light and crispy batter. Clean fresh oil used. Excellent fish and chip shop.

Not all fish & chip shops are the same & Stanmore Fish & Chips is definitely one of the best! The shop may be small but it delivers on food & service. Hand cut chips are well seasoned, golden & crunchy. Both the fish & potato scallops had a golden, crunchy batter encasing moist, tender fish or a nice soft slice of potato. The fish burger was great too with a nice traditional sesame bun, battered fish & a lightly spiced tartare sauce. The grilled barramundi was a generous fillet doused with a garlicky, herby, butter/sauce which was super tasty, maybe better on a bed of rice or pasta then chips. The calamari rings were well crumbed, fork-tender & not oily at all. Coleslaw was well dressed & crunchy and service was friendly & prompt. Cannot wait to return!

Pleasantly surprised with their battered fish; the batter's thin and not greasy.Enjoyed their seafood basket and crunchy chips. Too bad it's far from my suburb :')

Very good service, the guy cuts the chips himself while the lady seasons the fish. Turns out the batter used is tempura so it's got a nice flavour to it. Enjoyed it.

Excellent chippy! Conveniently open mid afternoon on a Monday, the hand cut chips and lightly battered Barramundi fillet were cooked to perfection and still hot when I'd walked to the nearby park to eat them.Maybe they could offer vinegar as an option instead of a lemon slice is my only suggestion.(Btw in Adelaide, where I live, I can't believe that chip shops win awards for cooking frozen chips!)

Let’s be Frank! What positives really given there are far better fish and chip shops in neighbouring suburbs. Like most shops on Percival Road they need to update with the times and offer better selection of salads and presentation here is poor. The fish and chips are okay however as locals we want a modern offering and they are closed Sundays!??
