Ian The Dog Trainer

We learned more about our dogs behaviour from 1 session with Ian, than we did with months of obedience school and multiple sessions with another in-home trainer. Ian’s decades of experience in the field of dog training speaks for itself, and he was very transparent regarding what we could expect to achieve with our big Labrador. We have been applying the techniques shown by Ian and our dogs behaviour has improved significantly, on walks and in the home environment. Thank you Ian!

We met Kym who helped us with training our 8mnth old cavoodle. In only one 2 hour visit we could already see a huge difference . Kym was amazing, would highly recommend to anyone !

Dale from Ian the Dog Trainer came to visit our new puppy. Very few of the techniques he showed us worked. On top of that he was pretty sarcastic and rude. Was not prepared to offer email follow-up for post-consultation queries. Over-priced, very poor value for money spent. Disappointing.Ian came last week for a follow-up visit and was most helpful in addressing all of the issues we were previously experiencing with our puppy. We now have training techniques that are working well.Thanks Ian.

Highly recommend Tom Hewlett from Ian The Dog Trainer. We have a cavoodle pup and Tom patiently answered every question thrown at him by me, my 12 year old daughter and my husband! His instructions are simple to follow. He gave us some practice runs so we knew what to do ourselves. Everything he explained made sense. He was warm, kind, patient and generous with his expertise. We had Tom train our young puppy today and couldn't have been more impressed. Anyone who owns a dog knows how hard it is to get sound, consistent advice which works and also allows you to live your life happily with a dog. Tom clearly has extensive experience training working dogs and we noticed an immediate difference in our pups behaviour in the first 30 minutes of practising his techniques. I did a lot of research looking for a puppy trainer and my head was swimming with conflicting advice given by other trainers, vets and pet shops. Tom totally clears up the misconceptions and provides a practical and effective way to teach your puppy boundaries. I never write reviews but I could not recommend Ian and Tom more for making life with a puppy so much simpler.

We highly recommend Tom Hewlett from Ian the Dog Trainer. Tom taught us how to get the best from our puppy so we build a foundation for his growth into a well-behaved adult dog. Tom’s advice was practical, professional, logical and effective. He looked at our set-up (an apartment with a resident cat) and helped us plan how we would create a happy home for us and our pets. We are so glad we sought his advice and are happy to recommend his services to any dog owner.

So I waited 2 weeks to write this review because I could not believe the outcome of the experience with Dale. In a time span of 2 hours Dale not only turned our Cavoodle puppy Noodle around but taught us as first time dog parents tricks and tips that we could not have learnt from anywhere else. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone and I truly feel that after our session I am able to connect better with my puppy and am able to correct any behaviour before it turns into a bad habit. Their advice is practical, easy to follow and since they come home they look at your individual situation to provide you with a personalised experience. 5/5 the best I believe is out there!

Cant thank Tom from 'Ian The Dog Trainer' enough. Awesome bloke and awesome dog trainer!!! If anyone is looking for a good dog trainer that gets results you cant go past them. My Dogue De Bordeaux was a good dog before now he is the perfect pet! walks on lead with out pulling, listens to commands, etc. Tom even had some great tips about getting Napoleon settled in when he first arrived home which made it so much easier!These guys are the best!!!

Dale came to visit us, to help provide training for our 9 week old Cavoodle - Arlo. We could not be more happy with our session. He sat and listened to where we were having challenges, and he shared awesome tips and tricks to make sure we have a well trained puppy. We went through:- House Setup, including pen, doggy doors, outside play area, toys- 4 rules to a good dog- How to discipline- How to walk on lead- How to make sure puppy stays in their bed- General tips and tricks and any specific issues we hadThis was an awesome session, and we are so happy we booked in Dale. He is warm and friendly, and Arlo just loved him.We could not recommend Ian the Dog Trainer (and Dale) more. Thank you so much - we feel so much more confident with our Puppy!

I have never had a puppy before so decided to do it right in the first place. I had only had my puppy for a week when Tom arrived. He immediately made me feel comfortable as I didn't quite know what to expect. It was like watching a magic show. My puppy Gigi did everything he asked of her and he made the process look quite simple. He explained everything in detail and put me at ease. Then it was my turn and voila she responded to me as well. Clever little puppy or should I say clever Tom! I am absolutely delighted it was money well spent and would highly recommend Tom . Thank you.
