What an amazing motel to stay at. Never stayed underground before. So unique. Rooms are large and quirky and very clean. Shared bathroom facilities.Very disappointed with food. No problems there was 8 options to pick from for dinner, just three were not available. Staff could not care less. Upon arrival the man who checked us in was less than welcoming. Two ladies behind the bar/office/kitchen could not care less. They begrudgingly moved their bodies around to work and were unimpressed to be interrupted from their phone to be asked a question. Absolutely no atmosphere at all. Everyone went to bed at 7.30pm with nothing to do. Milk for breakfast was congealed and the two pieces of toast left were hard. The manager advised he is leaving in two weeks, let's hope this absolutely unique holiday stay improves with new management. Would I stay again.... undecided!!

We had a great family and friends time at the Underground Motel. Fun experience, very good sleep. The rooms and bathrooms are clean.Massive shoutout to the Chef Pablo for an awesome soup of the day, an amazing breakfast and for being so lovely.

We had the whole house to ourselves. It was all underground there's 6 bedrooms and extensive kitchen with lovely light TV room and library with sitting room and dining area with numerous bathrooms. The laundry was handy.

Positive: reception was friendly. Interesting concept of sleeping in essentially white caves. Negative: shared bathrooms where toilet seats were lose, mosquitoes in the room without mosquito killers available, furniture looks like it is from the 50s, not styled but from the 50s, upstairs viewing room has broken chairs, no staff at reception in the mornings, place looks generally very tired, not much (or anything?) to do. Paid for 3 nights but left after the first.

Beautiful underground hotel, experience of a lifetime for city living people like us! We found it clean and comfy. The only downside was their kitchen was closed due to COVID (we visited during Dec 2021). Toilets are shared - I did not expect 5 star staying underground. Walking on the underground passageways were awesome! They provide basic breakfast which is not bad. The bar is open till late. Highly recommended.

The new management must have changed things because the staff was helpful and friendly. When the fried tomatoes finished for breakfast (which is included in the price) they went out or their way to fry some just for us. You come to this hotel for the experience of sleeping in a dugout underground. If you expect great food (which was fine) then go somewhere else. Can’t expect great variety of food choices when the nearest supermarket is 300Km away. If you want a different outback experience I recommend you come here.

Warning if you arrive at night good luck finding it there is next to no signageThe whole sleeping in a cave underground was a great experience But unfortunately that's where it endsThe room was dirty with the exception of clean beds and towelsThe shared bathroom, toilets are like using a shower block from a 1970s caravan parkUnclean and uncared forThe seats in the hall ways look like they have been the from 1970 aswelThe stair way to heaven deck is also full of broken chairsWent looking for the poolFound where it once wasNow been filled in with dirtNo mention of that on the WebsiteThe free breakfast is in a common room line up help yourself style servingThe staff are friendly when you can find themShame the whole place has been let get run downI wouldn't call it a motelIt's more like an expensive Backpackers inn ran by pretty care free BackpackersWith a look thru but would not recommend stayingEspecially at $195 per nightSidenoteNot a big deal no tvs or fridge in any roomsExtremely disappointing1star

I was excited to stay at this hotel as I had heard many positive comments from family and friends. Our visit was in April with all the rain and mud but didn’t let this deter us. A little disappointed with staff who appeared not too interested in their guests. Food was good. Didn’t know when I booked that we didn’t have our own bathroom. Even though a unique experience probably won’t return.

If you want a real outback experience, this would be a perfect long drive with overnight stay. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Only downside are the shared showers and toilets which were rather poorly managed.A local pub serves good food and drinks.Apart from that view from top of the hotel and sunsets are exceptional.
