Beechworth Books

I have been here a number of times and the people that have served me have been helpful and pleasant. Until today. Today I was driven out of the store by an employee. This employee told us to stop handling the books in a shrewd manner. If we cannot handle the books to see if we want to buy them, then perhaps you shouldn't be open! To follow up this up, we were told abruptly that we only had 15 minutes to look. So we left.I understand that covid is a thing, but I won't be back. Never have I felt so unwelcome in a store like I was today.In response to your response, we understand that there were rules that you had to abide by, and we didn't know them when we entered. But we also didn't need to feel like we were being chased out of the store. You missed out on several hundred dollars of sales because of the passive aggressive way that you spoke to us and your body language was unfriendly. At the end of the day, you were rude and we didn't like it.

This is a really great book store in a small community town. It is nestled in the middle of the Beechworth Main Street. The customer service has always been helpful but not in your face. The range of books is impressive for being in a small town. Recommend a visit here if you are a book lover. Easy to get parking in the Main Street most of the time. Or you could park in the IGA car park out the back.

Gentleman inside was lovely and more than happy to help us, happy to say due to his assistance we walked out with an arm full of books. Thank you
