Point Smythe Coastal Reserve
Point smith coastal reserve is a interesting place with the changing environment with established Mangrove system and new mangroves taking hold in new locations. The new mangrove is holding the the salt marsh together lessening the erosion of the foreshore with out the mangrove the bank is eroding and putting large Coastal manner gums under threat with the Yellow sea lavender along with other plants along the coast.The bank is a fine black silt now washing on to the beach leaving a muddy film over the sand. Off the shore there are areas of sea grass a great habitat for sea life crabs and young mullet
