Great little museum to stop of and visit if in the area. The Water tower is great and full of olden knick knacks. Kids enjoyed checking out all the old stuff. There are quite a few stairs, so take that into consideration if visiting.

Probably the best display of taxidermy animals ever. The water tower is very unique as a museum with 3 floors. Great display in out building and lovely old railway station.

The museum was great. Such a delightful find in Murtoa. The taxidermy on the first floor was great and each level of the tower was interesting. It was so lovely to be surrounded by so much history and our ticket included entrance into the Railway Museum which was great. If you like history and are a bit of a train nerd too- you'll like this.

My Mum and I headed here on a family history mission on a beautiful winter’s day last week and we were greeted with hospitality and knowledge. They had a collection of photos that were helpful in Mum’s research and the water tower housed an AMAZING collection of taxidermy birds - I’m a bird nerd so this was a big unexpected bonus. Would recommend checking them out if you’re in town!

Three for the price of one!! Our entry price covered the tower, a school and a railway station, all full of interesting objects (including my favourites, nearly 200 stuffed birds and an egg collection). Friendly volunteers on duty too :)
