Poor service and over priced bland food.We went for lunch as a group of 8. We all ordered at the same time, but the food ended up slowly coming out one dish at a time. The last person ended up getting their meal 45 minutes after the first person. One of the orders we had to keep asking where the meal was as people who arrived after were getting their food before us.The vegetarian green curry was a rip off. $24.50 for a handfull of green veggies in a bland, watery sauce with no chilli or spice and no rice. How can you justify that price? The staff were pleasant to deal with though.

Small local restaurant offers decent range of Malaysian foods! The portions were quite large. Staffs were attentive and friendly.

Excellent Sunday lunch special--- popiah and rojak. Both made of fresh ingredients and very authentic. Restaurant situated at a beautiful and upmarket suburb Armadale easily accessible by tram and train. Parking a bit tricky but still available

We tried the nasi Lemak with Rendang and the Ipoh chicken and prawn soup. The rice had a faint scent of coconut milk and the Rendang was soft although not as aromatic as I would have expected. The horfun soup is deceptively moorish, at first it tastes like a bowl of soup that you drink when you're under the weather and by the end you keep drinking that broth.Food - 6Service - 8Vibe - 6Price - $

Our dinner experience here was pretty good. Having just returned from KL, we wanted to get another taste of the fantastic Malaysian flavours. It's important to understand that there are different influences on Malaysian cusine depending on region. The flavours here were very good however I found the portion sizes a little bit small. The home made tofu is the perfect accompaniment to a bowl of rice. This is definitely one of the better Malaysian restaurants in Melbourne!

Though there were many good reviews of the restaurant, Ive written my reviews in 2 parts and in average of both a 3.5 stars.Service 2/5First time there. Stood at the entrance for a while waiting to be seated. Could see the waitress was chatting away with a customer at the counter. Her view of the entrance was blocked by the customer so we thought why not we just get ourselves seated at one of the 2 empty tables near her. Then asked if we could take it. She looked frustrated as presumably I’ve interrupted her chatting. Since then she walked passed us many times assuming we’re not there. Could hear her laughing and chatting to other tables behind us. After about 5mins of no attention, we went to the counter to take the menus ourselves. And later we both had to get her attention twice in order to place our orders. It’s a small restaurant with only a handful of tables.Food 5/5The Wat Tan Hor was truly amazing! So far the most authentic and most wok hei noodles that I’ve eaten. Har mee and green curry rice was delicious too.Maybe it’s just my experience. Sometimes good food appetite could be ruined with not-too-good customer service.Hope to be back again, though not too soon for the great food.

Great food, reminds me of home! I highly recommend the Homemade Tofu with Broccoli and Minced Pork even if you're not into tofu, the texture and taste is different to your usual tofu.We ordered 6 dishes for a group of 5 and was enough for us. Other than the tofu, we liked the Beef and Vegetables with Cashew Nut as well, but really they were all delicious!

Service: 8/10 they run a very lean team but never seem too busy to provide just the right amount of attention.Ambiance: 7/10 nothing to note, it’s a typical Chinese style restaurant with a 90’s type feel. It’s clean and spacious, they dont cram the tables inFood: 7.5/10Come here on Sunday for the special menu that has the rojak and popiah. Not too many places serve these and not many at the same spotIt’s clearly Malaysian owned and I’m guessing they are hokkien.Other dishes to have here Sar horfun (they don’t do ying Yong), has very good wok hei though the ingredients seemed less last time around and the CKT.Haven’t had the dishes here but they look good too. If going in in a Sunday, make a booking or be one of the first there, it does get busy and I often see many being turned away at the door

chicken satay is 2/5, the peanut sauce has some curry taste in it. personally, i don’t like that, peanut sauce shouldn’t have curry in it.special fried rice is 3/5, plain.wat tan hor is 4/5, quite good, authentic. goes really well with the pickle green chili (ask for it)yam pot chicken is 3/5, does quite hit the spot for me. i have had better ones in melbourne.

Saturday 27/3/23 A generous 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ as the team front of house were so positive.Malaysian staple roti needs heaps of work. I wouldn’t order again. San Choi Bao was averageThe beef cashew was solid with the homemade Sambal a great add. Chilli and Green Chilli extras offered too.Crown Lager Aussie staple always nice on the menu.
