Excellent new hut and facilities with a cracking view, however there is a Kangaroo that has been fed human food and has become a problem. on 13 Jun 2020 Kangaroo woke us up by repeatedly hopping onto the sleeping platforms looking for food, ruining a good nights sleep. Also knocked food off the table and was agressive to one on the track guides, and trashed another guides tent a few weeks ago.DCBA Rangers have been notified, hopefully they relocate it sooner rather than later. You wouldn't want this one getting any bigger or more aggressive. Will give 5 stars if DCBA can confirm they have dealt with this problem.

Every time I try to get to this campsite, Google takes me along roads that say no unauthorised access. And I have no idea whether to continue or not. How are you guys accessing this campsite?

The hut was an amazing experience as it provided us with the necessary shelter for our wet trip! It takes a while (3 hours) or 11.3km to walk from the swan hills discovery centre. The Helena Hut provides just around 23 places for people to sleep inside it, incase there is bad weather. The campsite is amazing with spectacular views over the swan hills, especially in the morning with the fog covering the hills. There are toilets and beds, bring an inflatable mattress if sleeping inside or out! Highly recommend this place and make sure to log your stay in the book :) The other people and hikers staying there are so friendly and willing to help if you need anything!

Amazing campsite. There is a beautiful view over the valley that makes this a must stay on the bibbulmun track. There is room for 12 people on the 4 bunks (extremely tight packed though) and 8 around the fireplace.I recommend going the full 33km here from the northern terminus in order to just give a reward for the long walk.

What a beautiful spot. The hut is amazing, well built and clean. Water tanks healthy. There are a few benches to eat and sit at and a fire ring for winter time fires. A selection of tent pitches allows you to be secluded or social. The toilet is great too, loads of room and had TP when I visited. It is up a steep hill, but the view is great.I will be back here for sure

One of my favorite campsites so far along the Bibbulmun Track. I find it so serene there. I could just sit there all day, taking in the view, reading a book.It has a great view over the valley, beautiful at both sunset and sunrise, a nice hut with plenty of seating, sleeping area and areas for tents if needed. The hike there from Mundaring isn't too hard, the hike from the other direction is a little more grueling. I am not the fittest person, but I have managed it from both directions, so it is possible.

Lovely views, the hut has been rebuilt after the fires of 2018 so it is in great condition, two good water tanks with clean fresh water and a long drop toilet. It is quite a steep campsite but there are about a dozen tent sites available and there is a communal fire pit /cooking station set up for use in permitted times of the year. Failure few steep hills to hike up to get there, but well worth the trip.

I'm sure it was a nice campsite but the hut has burned to the ground. No water, no toilet, no shelter but still a magnificent view.
