The Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse
Karen & Sean are excellent hosts and their Homestead is beautiful. We had a 4 night stay, it was perfect to unwind and relax. The breakfast each morning was superb and the afternoon tea's were amazing, Karen makes beautiful cakes. Waking up to the view of the mountains & Kangaroos every morning is a great way to start the day. We will definitely be back.

A wonderful place. A big log fire in the sitting room, heating from Aircon in the bedroom. The hosts were charming. Food was delicious. Downstairs snooker and games room was appreciated.

Karen & Sean have really made a sanctuary in Mudgee- a beautiful town that was absolutely enhanced by this wonderful property. Well designed, beautifully put together. Wonderful hosts, who are ready and willing to help you on your stay in town. A wonderful selection of local goodies available at the house.House was beautifully designed and comfortable rooms, amenities including a private bathroom/shower, and communal pool table/ dart board/ coffee machine & teas. Lots of books and board games available as well. Wish we could have stayed their a week- wonderful experience. Incredibly clean- gorgeous views and look at local wild life! Rooms felt very private- no noise came in from hallways or outside, feels like you have the town to yourself.

The Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse
Beautiful caring hosts, exceptional attention to detail and the most relaxing and comfortable experience we could have wished for. A Mudgee visit wouldn't be complete without a stay in this homestead. The first class breakfasts, daily afternoon tea and fresh cakes are just an example of the uniqueness of this guesthouse experience.

Beautiful location with a beautiful view. We stayed at the homestead over the Easter weekend, and we had a wonderful time. Our hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The facilities are excellent and the cooking was sublime, the breakfast was just incredible, the cake at afternoon tea was fantastic, and the Saturday night dinner was scrumptious. We highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed!

The Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse
We booked out the whole place for a long weekend with friends and loved it.A gorgeous homestead on a farm with lovely views of the countryside and hills, not far from some of the best vineyards in Mudgee. The homestead has 7 bedrooms, each with an en-suite, doors out onto the verandah and a large dining and living room to share.Breakfast is served, as is afternoon tea. We also had a three course dinner served on Saturday night, starting with canapés and wine and ending with port & chocolates in the lounge. Food here was great and there was plenty of it, especially at breakfast. Home made preserves, preserved fruit from their orchards, hot and cold options.Karen & Sean are amazing hosts and very accommodating. You never went hungry here and most things were catered for. The rooms were clean and well stocked. The common kitchen had plenty of tea and coffee and you could buy snacks and wine from them if you wanted.Down below the house is a large games room with big TV, wet bar, pool table, darts and arcade games. A great space to enjoy and hang out.Loved it here and would come back again with friends for a few days. Great location close to Mudgee and their land has so many kangaroos you can see at dusk and dawn.

Karen’s mouth-watering home-made cake, offered on our arrival with a reviving coffee, was a great introduction to the relaxing stay that Brigitte and I enjoyed in the perfect, ultra-comfortable guest house that Karen and Sean have created in a perfect location! Their hospitality is so genuine (not “commercial”), and they have developed and decorated the property with great flair. We enjoyed an outstanding breakfast on the verandah, looking out onto the beautiful surrounding countryside, before regretfully leaving this peaceful haven and heading for home. Can’t wait to go back for another (and longer) stay at this first-rate guest house.

We just had 3 nights at The Mudgee Homestead Guesthouse, what amazing hosts Sean and Karen were. Our room was lovely and the dining and lounge rooms gorgeous, nothing was too much trouble. Afternoon tea with those amazing cakes sitting on the front balcony enjoying the view was special. We enjoyed being spoilt for breakfast each day with yummy local produce. Thank you so much for having us, highly recommend.

2nd time visiting with friends - this time hiring the whole guesthouse for a winter's long weekend. In summary - delicious, warm, comfortable, and can't wait to do it again!Hosts: Sean and Karen are very hospitable, warm hosts who welcome you like old friends. Their afternoon teas and breakfasts are legendary - as are they!Accommodation: 7 guestrooms all with shower/toilet ensuites with the basin and mirror in the bedroom (informed one also has its own sitting room and one a bath - not sure if it is the same room) and balcony access. Hard soap for shower, liquid soap for sink, hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner sachets, makeup remover sachets, separate face washer for makeup removal, tissues, towels, hand towels and wash cloths all provided in room. Extra blankets in wardrobe (not needed). Plenty of wooden coat hangers, half of which also have clips for skirts/trousers. Individual reverse cycle aircon. No TV (talk to people!). Desk with welcome bottle of wine and 2 chocolates.Common areas main level: Extensive verandah around 3 sides with lounges, tables and chairs scattered along. Loungeroom with open fire, port, books, games and daily newspapers. Dining room with communal table. Tea/coffee nook that has guest full size fridge with freezer, microwave, 2 kettles, bean (not pod) coffee machine for freshly ground coffee, wide selection of tea bags, refillable glass bottles of water on bench and in fridge, fresh milk (dietary options catered with advance notice), selection of glasses, cups, mugs, bowls and a cupboard containing various dinner/serving plates, serving/cutting boards, cutlery, cooking implements (e.g. sharp knives, servers etc) all for self-catering, iron and ironing board. Plastic containers for dirty dishes for washing (there is no sink). There are always beautiful fresh flowers from the garden in the common areas. Lots of interesting art on the walls.Self-catering options: BBQ and pizza oven downstairs, microwave in the nook on the main level. Order from town (think only pickup rather than delivery). We had very nice wood-fired flatbreads from Cade Kitchen and Bar in town. N.B. The property kitchen is not available to guests due to insurance.Technology: Wifi (automatically connected from the last visit with no issue); TV only in bar/games room downstairs; arcade games.Bar/games room: Downstairs and contains bar, bar fridge, sink, some glasses, pool table, TV, old-style video games (Pacman!), lounge, chess, reverse cycle aircon, toilet.Outside downstairs: Firepit (not necessarily available all year round depending on fire restrictions in summer etc.), outdoortables and plenty of chairs to seat all 14 guests.Food: Dietary needs are catered to with advance notice.Breakfast has self-serve continental breakfast elements and a (delicious) hot dish that changes each day. Approx 4 types of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, usually at least 2 types of preserved fruit (cherries, plums, apple) and 2 jams and 1 marmalade all usually made from their own farm produce. One morning there was hot porridge as well. Self-serve toast (fruit bread, soughdough and square white) and fruit juice. Jugs of tea and coffee are brought around during the meal.Beautiful afternoon teas served each day on the verandah if weather is nice, otherwise inside. Home-made cakes that change each day (we had a date cake with lovely crunchy oat topping, and peach and raspberry sponge tray cake that was like eating a cloud), fresh whipped cream, tea and coffee.Sat dinner: A chef is on site to provide dinner; canapes are served in the lounge (there were 3-4 different types served) with wine, then 3 courses are served in the dining room, with port and chocolate in the lounge after.View: Vineyards, lawn with kangaroos at dusk, expansive countryside, sunsets. This is a singles/couples property only unless whole property is booked.
