The good reviews are not fake this is a GREAT Fish and Chip joint. Period. For your money I challenge you to do better in Melbourne. Food is always good, and I'm picky.EDIT) Just tried their Souvlaki's and it was fresh and delicious. Like jeez, what are people expecting for 11 bucks! It was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced with perfect serving size. Don't believe the haters - this is good food.

Tried this place after reading reviews but it was the worst we've ever had.No exaggeration, photos will show the fish was really thin,barely thicker than the batter.We had Hake and King George Whiting & never had fish that tasted less like fish than this. Not the fault of the shop but their supplier. Batter was really thick,horribly thick and we had to take it all off.Chicken nuggets,Saveloy and pineapple fritter were nice once the batter was off.Best food was the potato cakes which had a beautiful thin crispy batter. I didn't want to leave a negative review until i'd phoned & spoken with the owner(?) but he was a little defensive,which i understand as no one wants to be given negative feedback but i wasn't rude & neither was he.We had spent over $40 there. If he had offered an apology or part refund (which we wouldn't have taken anyway,just the gesture would have been nice) i would have let it be but as there was no taking responsibilty-they must make the batter in shop?- i feel the need to put my review out there.Sorry,but i am perplexed by all those positive reviews.

The potato cakes and veggie burgers are delicious. The servings generous. All in all, an improvement since the business changed hands. Would highly recommend this fish n chip shop!

The Corner stop Fish & Chips shop is a lovely place to eat. I had the Flake and chips and wasn’t disappointed in fact very happy with the serving. Chips were crunchy and fluffy on the inside and the flake was fresh and cooked to perfection. Reasonably priced with friendly service a place not to miss

Made a hefty order, and was left disappointed. Everything was over cooked and if it wasn't, it's because it was missing.I love supporting local, and I hope this was a once off kinda thing, I'm just not convinced after hearing the 2 workers or owners bickering over having to do something " when referring to what I now know was our missing items

Crunchy Tasty Chips! Big fillets of fish in yummy batter! Hot Jam doughnuts made to order and Greek style rice pudding. Friendly service and clean & bright store. The Burgers are Handmade too! They taste just like a Sunday afternoon BBQ! I've Miss that Old School flavour of a real burger. Thanks Corner Stop Fish & Chips for bringing it back!

We got dinner on the opening night of new management tonight and am so excited that we’ve finally got a good neighbourhood fish n chips in the area! Got chips, potato cakes, flake and calamari and you couldn’t want anything more from your local it was all delicious and crispy. Lovely customer service and felt very welcomed too which is always a bonus! Highly recommend, definitely come check out the new owners!!
