He treated people with manners and dignity. During the inspections, he resolved uncomfortable situations with my tenants. We recently sold with O'Gorman & Partners, and were absolutely thrilled with the entire experience. I've had the privilege of James Dorron being my Property Manager for over a year. I would highly recommend him as very professional, personable, a great communicator and with strong integrity. One example is the mgt of my property with the March 2022 floods. James went out of his way to manage an emergency situation and mitigate damage. I rented a property through O’Gorman and Partners for 3 years. The relationship between us as tenants and the realtor started off great, but unfortunately soured significantly in recent months.We flagged 3 years ago, that our property was flooding whenever it rained and we were advised to stop using the impacted room. Furthermore, our exterior balcony had flooding issues that prevented us from using the exterior lighting. When the flooding issue became too much to live with and our personal property was destroyed because of it, we requested a rent reduction / compensation. The property manager, Karen Stephenson responded that our request was “ludicrous” and to contact our insurer. Her response was lacking professionalism and failed to consider our rights as tenants. After advice from the Tennancy association, we ended up filing a complaint with NCAT, but fortunately, common sense prevailed and we were provided with compensation prior to the issue going before NCAT. Despite being provided a rental increase that would indicate that the owner was wanting to continue to lease the property, a week after lodging a complaint with NCAT we were notified that we were being evicted from the property as the owner had sporadically decided to sell the property. When I suggested the timing of the eviction notice was coincidental and suggested it was done in a retaliatory nature, I was told that “the world didn’t revolve around me”. However, the property is yet to be listed for sale.Furthermore during our time as renters, we had our privacy significantly breached. Copies of our private and confidential correspondence between us and our realtor were PRINTED AND PROVIDED to OTHER RESIDENTS in the building, and while O’Gorman and Partners put fault on the Strata manager for this error, it became evident that our information wasn’t protected in the first place by O’Gorman and Partners, more specifically Kate Skelton who forwarded our correspondence without redacting the confidential information, albeit assuring us that she had. This issue is currently under investigation by the OAIC. At no point did we even receive an apology for their of lack discretion.Finally, a notice to perspective landlords looking at enlisting O’Gorman and Partners to manager their investment property, I can safely say we had less than 3 inspections within the property. That’s one inspection a year… to which I can see below in other reviews they have blamed the pandemic, but even since the pandemic subsided there was still a lack of inspections.Judging from the companies replies on reviews below, this review will be met with criticism and an attempt to discredit my feedback.
