The room was nice, big, and clean. The only issue I had was with the lack of available free parking and having to pay for breakfast when I was already paying so much for parking.Other than that, the service by the young man who was running the place was very friendly and courteous.

The staff are helpful, the breakfast plentiful, and they supplied gluten free, which is great. But definitely a 3 star hotel - bed is comfy but not great, rooms are generous, as this is build in an old home, but the decor needs updating or refreshing and the bathrooms need work. But hey, not bad for a quick get away close to the city

Great location and so long as you don't mind the faded grandeur and a few little things that don't work like lights and so on, it's a very good value hotel. They even have a nice little basic breakfast area which is no extra cost. The parking is very limited (first come/first serve) and also your car is stacked in a lane behind others, so getting in and out is best left till you leave. Lovely staff and a definite favourite even so.

A budget hotel on the city's fringe. Basically for me this was a place to rest my head for the night and nothing more. Given the chance I would choose somewhere else to stay. The reception was welcoming and professional, the car parking facility was adequate, the room was quite. The room itself was quite small and very dated, the curtains need replacing and there were marks all over the walls, upon entering the room we were faced with a locked up musty smell which made our stay less than welcoming. All in all if you are really desperate for a room to sleep then I'd say go for it otherwise I'd suggest looking at other options.

Location is excellent, a simple & lovely walk through fitzroy park puts you in the free tram zone and it's far enough away that there's no traffic noise. An uber to the centre of the city is around $8 if you don't feel like walking. Staff were cheerful, competent and so helpful. The rooms, although dated, were clean and comfortable. Some repairs may be good but definitely nothing major enough to impact the stay. Breakfast has such a variety for the price, was fresh and delicious. I will be staying here every time I visit Melbourne. I can't wait to come back.

Location is great, 2 blocks away from public transport. Not in the free zone, but not too far from it. We had no Trouble finding a park, a small deposit gave us a permit. Prices were great for a last minute booking. The beds were average and the customer service was good.Nothing bad to say about our stay.Except maybe the shower is not designed for tall people and there was no toaster in the 'cottage's' kitchenette.

Despite its great location, I had a terrible night's sleep. The A/C was broken and when we went down to report it, there was no one at the front desk to assist despite being in business hours and ringing the service bell several times. The room was close to 40 degrees and we also couldn't open the windows therefore making it an uncomfortable night. There was no hot water in the shower, the hairdryer was broken and had scratchy sheets. At check out, we complained and were not offered a refund or much explanation. I hate to give a bad review but feel they need to work on their overall services and upkeep.

This place is good for its location as it is close to the mcg and trams to take you to city centre, the beds were quite soft and comfy except for the trundle beds which were only provided with a small bit of foam. The quality of this hotel was appalling;- You’d have to be a giant to step up into the shower/bath and a midget to actually have the shower.- It is in extreme need of renovations or at least some new furnishings.- One of the single beds that was placed in the kitchen broke with minimal weight on it (just sitting) due to how old and outdated- the curtains don’t move properly and there was a curtain directly above the heater that was getting quite warm- the dining table and chairs felt like they would crumble if we put any weight on them- it is a very cramped space for a “family room” especially when the trundle beds are used in random parts of the room.- minimal appliances to use and appliances that were available were extremely outdated.Honestly it looks like a horror movie when you first step foot into this place, with long, dark and narrow hallways and creepy looking paintings... this is definitely not the hotel that is advertised.

Very old and run down. It needs an upgrade as the facilities in the small room that we occupied were poor. The bed was fine but the bathroom was very ordinary. Rusty fixtures, cracked power point to name a couple of issues. The 'hotel inspector' would have a field day!! Excellent proximity to the MCG. The breakfast was quite good.
