Went in for 1 drink & a bag of ice ended up staying for 4 drinks, dinner & ice thanks to Elly the barmaid. Fellow territorial doing a great bloody job of looking after all patrons. What a tonic this lady is, an asset to this business.If only we’d known it was free camping out the back we’d still be there!!!Best crumb steak, chips n salad ever!Our 10year old lab laid beside us at the bar the whole time so my night was complete ❤️

I stayed here with my partner. At the begging everything looked nice but when he got into bed the mattress fall apart. The wood seemed to be rotten and cheap. They gave us another room but was full of bugs, impossible to sleep.The staff was very nice and kind.

We stopped for the night out the back at the free camping by the old stables in our camper trailer with Ted our small Jack Russell, we had a couple of cold drinks and stayed for dinner.at the pub both meals were excellent and Ted was allowed to sit inside with us, which was also most excellent, the service was friendly, highly recommend, a great place to spend the night.

Grew up in Pentland and have gone back for the races for a few years now. Decided to head to the pub for dinner after the races. We tried the burgers which were great. Very fresh, the service was fast and friendly even though the bus heading back to Charters Towers pulled in as we arrived.

Pulled in for a cold drink and ended up spending the night. Travelling with 4 kids is not easy. We were invited to bring all the kids in where the very lovely Elly poured them some water and directed them to toilets. We were able to order some quick meals which she did ever so promptly. I have stayed at this pub before with no such service. The rooms have heavily improved and the prices very reasonable. Thanks Elly for making our holiday that little bit better.

We and 2 other vans stayed at the free camping area at the rear of the pub, next to the old horse stables in the main photo. Free potable water. We all had a few beers in the pub, and the publican, Elly, allowed us to take our small dog inside, even with 2 police officers there at the time. She provides stubby holders for patrons' use whilst there - a nice touch. The history boards of the town and area inside the pub were interesting. We'd definitely stop in again, even just for a beer.

Came to pentland quiet late at night as the 2 towns before were closed, so got here at 7.30 the only place open was the pentland hotel and the lady at the bar was so lovely we got a meal which was delicious and got a spot camping for free out the back! Thank you so much
