Iluka Retreat - Group camps & Glamping
Went as a pair of friends to Iluka for a lovely night of glamping by the lake, it was so beautiful to hear the frogs at night and the birdlife in the morning. Felt like we were the only people there! The peninsula is one of my favourite places in the off season, and even though it rained plenty - we stayed dry in the shelter and the tent was super cosy with blankets and hot water bottles. Went out for dinner (although could easily have cooked for ourselves in the well equipped camp kitchen) and came back for a nip of port by the fire.

This is not worth for money($400). If I can rate as zero I would. Toilet and bathrooms were not clean and bugs and cobwebs everywhere. we had spiders inside our tent also. And there's a sour smell (not well dried clothes smell) inside the tent and it was really hard for us. It was too cold and we have pay extra $55 for the fire pit. Also can Not recommend this place. Kitchen amenities also old.

Please read the 1-star reviews as it is the most accurate description of the venue. Firstly the good qualities, the tents were beautiful and so was the location. However, these are the only good features of the retreat. The shared facilities were disgusting to say the least. The bathroom was littered with dead bugs and there was often no soap or toilet paper. To illustrate, the top of the toilet tank was covered with dead bugs that remained for the entirety of our 2 night stay. The shower also had a mountain of dead dragonflies and other insects, which would not have been there if the facility was regularly cleaned. Of note, the bathroom is shared between men and women, which is not an issue besides the fact that there is only 4 toilets and 2 showers supplied. To top it off, similar issues were experienced with the kitchen as there was little to no detergent and overall a lack of cleanliness. It was also alarming that the fridges were close to room temperature and that both of the amenities shared a distinct foul smell.Overall, it comes to no surprised that the shared amenities are rarely advertised as they are the biggest downfall of Illuka. Much like other have mentioned, the venue cannot be considered glamping with these issues. It is simply camping with a nice tent. Illuka could be greatly improved if they upgraded the shared amenities by having more showers/toilets, better interior or by the very least have it regularly cleaned. I will mention that complaints on the shared amenities seem to be a long going issue, which is a shame as it may signify that the owners simply do not care. There is a lot of potential for this place but considering none of it is being fulfilled, I would recommend to stay away.

Stayed here over the weekend & was completely blown away by how amazing it was. The nicest campgrounds I've been to. Amanda & the staff were so good and helpful & our tent was out of this world. It was huge! So much bigger than expected. So many nice wineries around also to get food!

My kids attended Iluka in the Sept school holidays and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We were a little wary as my youngest had never been on a school camp before, much less one with lots of other kids that she's never met before but she could not stop raving about it when we picked them up. In fact she apologised that she did not think of us or miss us at all as she was too busy having fun. My kids loved the activities and said that the camp guides were really friendly and helpful. Thanks, Iluka staff, for a creating such a memorable and positive experience for them. This will go a long way in rebuilding their confidence and helping them to navigate social interactions again, after a couple of tough years.

I'm not sure what some of these other reviews are referring too. Mattress was mega comfy! Tents nicely laid out. Kitchen & bathroom facilities were immaculate. The grounds were nice to walk around and the views with the birds and hills were fantastic. Well worth the price :)

WOW! What a experience... The tents are beautifully set out & each has a beautiful view... It was so quiet & relaxing... Recommend bringing your own nibbles & drinks to enjoy on your little deck. The bathrooms & kitchen were nice & clean & had everything you would want for your time there. Can't wait to book again!

If you are looking for a romantic weekend away. We would not recommend this at all.Firstly the tents themselves were fine, beds comfy but just a tent. Extremely cold in winter so avoid that. The toilets are shared and only two of each which wasn’t stated beforehand. Even though the map shows paths to the tents there is no paths whatsoever and is very steep and slippery. Super hard to get to your tent. There is also no policing noise. We stayed two nights and both nights had people playing loud music and yelling till well after midnight. You are supposed to be quiet after 10 and with tents you can hear absolutely everything so ruined all the nights.Overall it is definitely not worth the $470 for two nights for an unpowered tent.

I would just like to say we would highly recommend your glamping experience to friends and family, we were in tent 11 and really enjoyed our one night there, staff were very friendly upon arrival. And the tent was so clean and spotless. 10/10

I stayed at Iluka Retreat for 2 nights with my adult children over the weekend. We had an incredible time, the tent itself is large and easily accommodates 3 adults in a beautifully decorated and equipped environment. The view from our deck in front of the tent was stunning and the peace and quiet just the tonic that we needed.
