What an absolute nightmare this company is to deal with. You hear horror stories and you think “not me”. Items of concern that were bought up during construction were still there at PCI, promised that the items would be fixed, we get to handover day only to be told they couldn’t fix them in time and promised it would be followed up. At this point we were desperate for handover, paying a full mortgage and a ridiculous amount of rent. You accept the house in good faith that items will be fixed. During our warranty period some of the small items were fixed. Some items that were logged you get push back from the warranty team saying “it’s within specification”, one item specifically we noticed after handover we were told we had scratched the bathroom vanity ourself and they provided a photo of the vanity at the time of handover from a different view. They agreed to fix it, the cabinet maker arrived and apologized that it wasn’t fixed prior to handover, they were aware of the issue and Metricon had booked them in to fix the issue prior to handover. This paints a picture of exactly how they operate, if they can try to weasel out of something they will. Another fault we noticed was the garage door, there were ripples all the way through it. We contacted Metricon, they advised it’s “within manufacturers specification”. We contacted the manufacturer and provided pictures, they advised it is not within spec and have arranged for the door to be replaced, again just showing how Metricon will try to weasel out of anything! It has taken 5 months for our sliding alfresco door to be “fixed” after the bricklayers damaged it through construction, we were told we have someone to come fix the dents and scratches and you won’t even notice them (which we didn’t at handover), after the first week of using the door it developed an almighty screech, one that could be heard 3 doors down, the door is obviously misaligned, yes the superficial scratches/dents are gone but it does not operate as it should. Yesterday they come to adjust it, it still screeches! These are just some of the issues we have had and this is only post handover. Pre-site and contract stage was just as bad. They just throw you from one department to another and no one takes responsibility for their decisions.
