Jiu-jitsiu for everyone. Very friendly team and great kids and family classes. Our whole family has been training there for more than a year. Learned great techniques, improved our game and made many friends.

Late last year my wife (36) told me she was going to a trial class of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She said she always wanted to try a martial art and to push beyond her comfort zone.She basically signed up on the spot. She told me how amazing the instructor and people were. And about how friendly and helpful everyone was.Fast forward several weeks. Each time she came home she would show me the techniques she had learnt and tell me how awesome the other students were and how much fun she was having.Her confidence skyrocketed.I (44) had been curious but apprehensive about doing BJJ many years ago not knowing what to expect or what would be involved. Given how it had positively affected my wife so much, I decided I needed to give it a try also.We have now been going about 6 months. To say we are addicted is an understatement. It's incredible for fitness and mental health.We are both in the best shape of our lives and can't wait to get on the mats as often as our schedules allow.The next step is to get our daughters involved and on the mats training also. (7 and 3 years old). Given how positive it has been for us it can only do wonders for their health, and confidence like ourselves.I would highly recommend for anyone to give it a try. Two months deep into this brilliant journey and i'm kicking myself that i didn't give it a whirl years ago! Coaches are absolutely next level and everyone is so welcoming. There are no attitudes or ego's and it's far less daunting than I imagined. Great way to spend your time and work up a sweat!

I recently made the decision to try whatever sport I thought I would feel the most uncomfortable in and challenge myself to make it my most confident, and the team at Gracie Barra Tuggerah have been incredibly supportive and encouraging! Its now the highlight of my week and I feel a part of the community, couldn’t recommend them more to anyone who feels hesitant starting out!

After watching my kids enjoy the kids classes, I wanted to give it a go. After the first class I was hooked. Great coaches and an awesome atmosphere. Has helped my fitness and confidence. Would recommend to anyone!

Great classes!Kids did a trial class and both wanted to sigb up right after. Success!!The trainer is very thorough, but fairly quiet and friendly.The other kids in the class were only too happy to help the newcomers.The parents were also very friendly and helpful. Happily explaining everything to me.I feel confident this is going to be great activity for the kids to do.

The instructors at GB Tuggerah are second to none. Always willing to help! Also the members I have met in the last year have made it nothing but a comfortable experience on the mats.i look forward to training at this awesome club in the future!!

Such a great place to be a part of.The staff are friendly, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable. They ensure that everyone has a place here and have classes for everyone, from women's self defence , beginners, kids classes; as well as advanced classes for serious competitors.This is the best sport and the best gym I could have introduced my kids into

When I stepped foot onto the mats I never would have expected what I found.I joined Gracie Barra as I was searching for something to help with my mental health.What I found was a group of people willing to accept me for who I am. I found confidence in myself, an incredible form to get fit and build on myself inside-out and trust me knowing you can protect yourself from words and actions is a powerful thing.To say I was scared that first day is an understatement, but I walked out feeling so proud of myself and like I belonged.The instructors are so kind and welcoming and are always there for whatever support you need. I’ve never felt more at home in a sporting sense than I do here.I have found my second home and my happy place. Since then my husband has enrolled and we are on the way to enrolling our children as well.The new women’s classes are great if you feel intimidated to roll with men you’ve never met, but rest assured it is addictive and all those inhibitions disappear pretty quick. Then the parents and kids classes are a chance for my whole family to jump on the mats and have a little fun together.It is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family and I will never turn back.I cannot fault Gracie Barra TuggerahI definitely recommend coming in for a trial class but trust me. You’ll be signing up before you walk out the door!!!
