Autopak-Vetlab is not a very nice employer. Here is our experience. He started off as a casual. One day I said your pay is short, have you been to the pub. No he said, they put off all the casuals on Friday at lunch time. He has been there over a year now without a pay rise & should have been made permanent. He knows other casuals who have been there for years & not made permanent. We rely on his pay and simply can’t budget when things like this happen. They don’t even have a Xmas party. They are supposed to tell all the workers when new equipment is to be installed etc, but that does not happen... it simply appears and they are left wondering what it is all about. Most of the managers are bullies. It’s never management’s fault when there is a problem, it’s always the workers fault ….he wasn’t following procedures etc . And don’t bring up safety issues if you want to keep your job.He started on minimum pay, without a medical and received very little training. I told him he can’t afford to work there and to look for another job. He is thinking of selling the car because we can barely make ends meet. Oh well, at least the train station is close by. Hurrah, he has just found another job that pays better AND is closer to home.
