Brandon Rest Stop is quite a popular rest stop on the A1 Bruce Highway. There is plenty of parking space to park a caravan safely. There is a public toilet here that is well maintained. The shelter offers picnic table and an electric barbeque. There are numerous other picnic tables located under and around large shady trees, also a grassed area for picnics, events, and games.The playground sports a rope climbing tower, swings, spring rockers and a large fort with a slide and numerous other oddities. The sandy base is a hit after a rain shower, with all the sandcastles.Located here is also a well used half basketball/ netball court that is used by scooter and new bicycle riders.Close by there is the local ANZAC / Memorial park, Spiller St Park, Munroe St Park . The Brandon Hotel and Caravan park across the way has great meals, drive thru bottle shop and availabe cabins for the weary traveller.The Heritage Precinct across the highway offer great history and a heritage listed building.Brandon is known for its sugarcane and if you visit during the cutting season you may be treated with a local canefire and witness the well known Burdekin Snow.
