Florence Falls Waterhole

This is the most amazing place I have seen or swam. Stayed for 2 nights which was enough as at the time a lot park was closed and not much info available and up to date in the park

Florence Falls was the best part of my visit to Litchfield National Park and a great place for a swim!It's a very popular destination, it was quite busy even though we went on a weekday and not during school holidays.I would recommend following the path on the right, which will take you to a lookout and then a nice staircase down to the bottom where you can have a swim. You can then follow the path around to complete the loop back to the carpark.If visiting Buley Rockhole (which you should), I'd drive between the two places rather than taking the walking track.

A pair of spectacular waterfalls were cascading into the plunge pool at the base of Florence Falls in early June. This is a very popular place to cool off in Litchfield Nat. Park and is children friendly with a platform and steps to help people get in and out of the water. The only negative is the steep walk out, which includes about 150 stairs.

Beautiful. The stairs to the pool are a little disconcerting, but once at the plunge pools it becomes worth the effort.

Nice falls, full of backpackers diving off the cliffs though. Serious injury waiting to happen. Not wheelchair accessible.

A lot of stairs to get to this swimming hole but worth it if you are able.

Great place. The falls were good and the rockpool below was huge. Water was a nice temp and it wasn't too far from the carpark. Spent a great 40 min here cooling off.

Beautiful waterfall. Swimming was not yet allowed in June. Possible to do as day trip from Darwin. Excellent spot for a picnic.

This place is truly a spectacular place the water is cool and clear as the under water photo's show of the big sooty grunter fish there some smaller pools for particularly the little children the water is a lot calmer seeing these falls just after the wet season ended sure dose give you an idea on the amout of water that comes through this area is quite amazing. There are steel steps to walk in and out of the swimming hole with a railing to help you in and out of it . There is 2 ways to get to the falls there is a moderate walk that takes you through the heart of the bush, crossing many little creeks with some nice little dipping holes to cool off in on the walk and the other way involves 135 steps that basically climbs straight up the face of the cliffs . A word of warning if u have bad knees, heart issues, or any medical condition that can not handle the climb up 135 steps, then I suggest the lovely walk out through the bush where it's a lot easier on yourself . This waterfall will not disappoint. There is a viewing platform above the steps to for some great photos as well
