Mex-ellent food! Expensive online ordering platform, so many fees including a platform fee! We ended up going to the restaurant to order in person. Lovely service.Fajita for 2 - incredibly fresh food and packed in a way that it's still good half an hour later when we got home. Could have done with a couple more tortillas though!Margarita is quite strong, 2 standard drinks so worth what you pay.

Delicious food, lovely staff, cool venue!We had the chilli con carne, buffalo wings and jalapeño poppers. Also had a jug of mojito to share. Everything was perfect.

Ordered a beef burrito bowl and it had two tiny pieces of beef in it, it was basically a coleslaw bowl. Since when is coleslaw Mexican anyway? Prices are very expensive and serves are small if you don’t add expensive sides. No complimentary corn chips, they want $7 for those.

Delicious and well worth the price. Got the wings with half/half of each sauce, both were yum. The spicy sauce was more sour than spice though. The beef burrito bowl was fantastic, although quite rich. We ended up also getting corn chips which really helped cut through the burrito bowl. Ended with the churros with salted caramel sauce which were delicious, albeit a bit oily.

Amazing Mex experience at The Mex! Online booking for reservation. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, kid friendly activities at the table (activity sheet : colouring)Food was fresh and amazing. Definitely value for money! Portions are generous! Loves it. Too bad it’s too far for another visit. If I’m in the area sure to dine in again. Best Nachos I’ve had!

We went to the Mex on a Tuesday night for dinner as visitors in Ocean Grove for a few days. Having a love of Mexican food we were keen to try it out and were not disappointed. The Mex is very spacious with a lot of well spaced out seating so despite not having a booking they quickly found a space for us.My strawberry daquiri was great. The food, which we ordered, were a beef burrito, beef tacos, enchiladas and beef burrito bowl were all delicious. I can highly recommend that burrito bowl and was able to take some home when I couldn't eat it all after being full.We had the churros with salted caramel sauce for dessert and it was seriously some of the best churros I have had in a long time. The winning dish of the night amongst all the great food.The staff were super friendly and helpful including our waitress Maddy who was lovely. We will definitely be coming back next time we visit Ocean Grove.

If you want good Mexican food in Ocean Grove, go to Zambrero.Went to The Mex expecting food and drink worthy of such impressive reviews, however I was left quite disappointed. The pricing, I was quite amused to see such egregious prices. We ordered the fajitas for two, $57, what we received was the “old El Paso” recipe. The Negroni ordered was very weak and for $21 you’d expect something with a bit of taste.
