Absolutely amazing experience here. The food was tasty. The waiters and waitresses were really friendly and provided excellent service. I would definitely dine here again.

I love love love this restaurant , we've been eating here for years and it's consistent delicious authentic French cuisine is to be applauded. I do hold my breath a little just before we enter , breathe a sigh of relief when we see the wait staff , so immaculate and welcoming and then the food ! My husband remarked yesterday that the bearnaise is still the best he's ever had even compared to the restaurants in Paris.. the crepe Suzette is amazing , perfect!! Great bar and good menu choices.. as always. Do visit especially if you want the real French experience in Melbourne

I chose this restaurant for my anniversary and it turned out to be very bad. I don't want to review the food, it was very mediocre, and the bread was cut up by the waiter and served on a plate (which I found very unhygienic). The worst part was the service, which did not give me the feeling of French cuisine. One of the waiters made us feel uncomfortable by pointing out the way we were eating. Also, I wanted the steak to come early and he kept interrupting me and asking me to finish my appetizer before I could come up. Other behaviours were that two waiters were constantly chatting away, even with profanity. Lastly, the waiter at this restaurant was able to pick up a new glass on the bar at will and drink from it openly and honestly. It shocked me!

Headed to Bistro Thierry for date night on Friday and I’ll tell you what I hope you weren’t planning on having an intimate conversation as the tables are largely on top of one another! Also, charging for bread that I never ordered is a tad presumptuous. If bread arrives at the table when I’m not asked if I want any I’m going to assume it’s complimentary as it is in most restaurants. And frankly a place that charges $60 for steak should probably comp a small bread basket rather than billing you $4.Bread aside my steak was yummy though it did have quite a charred flavour. We had the chocolate soufflé for dessert which was well executed also. Definitely an authentic French experience and I enjoyed the atmosphere and pleasant interior however in my opinion there are superior French restaurants in Melbourne

We had a memorable dinner at this restaurant, with tasty food, and friendly staffs. My little one was also enjoying it.It's really worth me driving more than one hour to come! Will be back!

Bistro Thierry was highly recommended to me and I can see why — lovely venue with really good quality food.The experience, however, was brought down by a waitress and, interestingly, I see that other reviews have mentioned the lack of professionalism shown by her too. Let’s not beat around the bush — she was rude and abrupt.When I made the booking for 6:15 pm, it was made clear to me that the booking is until 8 pm — I was comfortable with this, as, to me, this was sufficient time for dinner.The issue I have, however, is that, once we placed our order at 6:25 pm, it got brought out to us at 7:20 pm. Don’t get me wrong — I had absolutely no problem waiting an hour for the great food that came out. My problem was that, at 7:40 — twenty minutes after the food was served and I was half way through my $67.50 steak, the waitress came and asked whether we’d be having desserts. We said we’d love to order desserts and we’d like to see the menu, to which she replied, “Well, you’re gonna have to hurry up, because we have another booking for this table at 8 o’clock!”I’m sorry, what now?This went from bad to worse as it took a further 10 minutes for someone to come take our dessert order and we actually had to grab another waiter’s attention, so we could place the order. The desserts arrived at 8 o’clock, at which stage the waitress started circling our table and making us very aware that we’ve now become an inconvenience as we’re holding up the table. It made us feel so uncomfortable, that we literally scoffed the desserts down and asked for the check.At $390 for the three of us, I would’ve hoped that I spent my time writing a review about the amazing food that we had and not a waitress with no manners, who ruined our special evening.Will I return?I’d love to try more of their menu, but I’d think twice and maybe check other French restaurants in town first.P.S: After posting my review, I came back to add this quote by another reviewer further down:“Extremely disappointed!!! It was such a disaster!!!Came here for dinner, a lady served us was in an arrogant attitude!!!When we ordered the dessert, the lady told me something like: “ we’ll see how you go, maybe you don’t have time to have the chocolate soufflé.” After hearing that, I said: “okay then maybe we can have anything come together”. The lady also told me: “ because we put the soufflé in the oven, you can’t have them together.” It was sooooo ridiculous!!!!!!”I went on their website to send an email to their management, however, there’s no email available for communication.

Many moons ago I frequented Bistro Thierry often, and it was nice to be back. Great to see they haven’t implemented QR codes to do their work, allowing patrons to enjoy the friendly banter of their lovely staff. There’s no threats of taking your money if you need to cancel either, and no 1.5 hour sit times. It’s run the old fashioned way, accepting bookings and walk-ins, allowing people to enjoy their time; no wonder they’re doing so well!The service is friendly and warm, the food fun, and the prices very good. It’s just such a happy place.We did have one little mishap with a particular dish, but our attendant remedied it like a gentleman, as did the chef, and that’s fabulous, because mistakes are human, but a bad attitude is a choice; and their attitude was magnificent!I loved my anchovy entree, so unexpected and fun!

Lovely restaurant. Starts with the impeccable service and greeting. I love the paper table cloth and the decor which gives it a real New York vibe. Extensive wine list . Had my first ever Sauvignon Blanc from France. Definitely unique and really wonderful. Entre was French Onion Soup. A classic French dish done very well. Bread was your classic Baguette. Main was duck which I enjoyed. Desert was Crepes Suzette. A masterclass in delicate tasty sauce. Staff were very helpful with my elderly mum. Nothing but praise.

Bistro Thierry is always fantastic. We try and visit whenever in the area but it's highly advisable to book. The food and wine choices are superb. A little bit of France in our own town. Staff are friendly. Plenty of parking in the local area. The French Onion Soup and Beef Bourguignon are my favourites but my guests also stated their meals (Fish, Escargot,Lamb) were also superb. Will be back.
