Wat an experience. It’s super fun for kids to slide long the sand dunes and the excitement to do more and more. It’s always recommended to buy sand slides/ body board for kids which u can easily get from anaconda or decalthon. One should visit this place I would rate the experience 10/10.

A large sand dune at Wilsons prom - Big Drift - is Melbourne's best kept secret. The walk from the parking lot takes about 30 minutes. There is a steep section at the end of the walk. For better grip, step on visible footprints. Cap park has toilets. Photographers will find plenty of opportunities here. However, getting lost in the sand dunes is easy, so keep an eye out for the entrance.Carry snacks and water if you plan to spend some time here. The photos should look great around Sunset.

There is a fair bit of parking at the trailhead. You can choose between this hike or the cemetery. The dunes themselves are a pretty sight. Its an easy 30 to 40 min hike in, very well marked, and minimal elevation gain. You also will see wildlife ( if you are quiet )It can get really windy on the dunes, hence prepare for a chill.I also suggest carrying a headlamp and app that tracks your trail, if you are heading in the evening , as once in the dune system its easy to get lost.Enjoy!

A great experience checking these sand dunes in between all those beach and trees surrounding it. A nice open area to explore the place however there are no activities to do. Bring in your own surf boards if you would like to play around a little.Definitely a great place if you want to see something different from the usual mountain and beaches.

Just lovely! I had not imagined that there would be dunes next to the beach, so close to Melbourne. There is a 2 km walk to the starting point of the said dunes. Plenty of signage, and a decent enough track. It starts from Stockyard campsite, which is located just before the main entry to Wilson's prom national park. You can park your car in the visitors area and walk through. There is also a historic cemetery which we didn't visit, since we had other spots to cover that same day. From the top, you can notice Mount Oberon and the beautiful sea. Worth spending some time. Ensure that you remember your way back, because of strong winds the dunes may change.

Big drift is such a new world in the middle of the bush! You have to come here. I love this! It's a bit reminder, you don't feel like you want to eat up there. But you need water to bring because you have to walk 2kms ( estimated 30min - to 40min). Consider the weather too. Enjoy!

Wilson Prom amazes you with a big sand drift, mountains, ocean and river all in one place. This is one of the must do and a unique place at Wilsons Prom. Although technically not inside Wilsons Prom but just falls at the official boundary of where the national park starts.Around 40 mins to get on the top. Out of the 40 mins, the first 30 mins are an easy hike. The last 10 mins is a bit tricky with the sand dunes just starting and a climb on those. Would suggest to leave your shoes on the way when the sand dunes start. It will be much easier to hike with naked feet as the shoes go deep inside the sand.Amazing amazing views at the top of the big drift.
