Giru International Hotel

Great place if you want to visit somewhere not many people go for a good conversation with the locals.

Lovely country pub with friendly staff and locals. $6.30 for schooners or stubbies of full strength beer or cider and $6.00 for mid strength. No cider on tap but choice of 6 beers on tap and good range of cider and beer in cans and stubbies. Really nice pool table in the smoking area at the front and your first game of pool is free, which is a great idea. Really good food specials every night except Monday, when the cook has the night off. Really enjoyed this pub and well worth a visit.

My 12yr son and I stayed at the Giru Hotel for a week in January. Andrew and Roselee, and Chrissie and Maddie were such beautiful people. Roselee's cooking was some of the best meals we've ever had! The old hotel is such a beautiful building, and the rooms were comfortable. Initially we were unsure about the toilets and showers being communal, then after our first night we realised that that was not an issue at all! Our vehicle was flood damaged during our stay here. Andrew and the team was so accommodating they allowed us to use their car port to plug in our portable freezers while waiting for our hire vehicle. Overall we had such a lovely time at Giru Hotel. All the locals who come here regularly have been such great people, we're waiting to go stay at this place again in our next trip that way.Thank you guys.Shan and Ishan.

Lovely little pub. Great service. Went for Fathers Day lunch n their BBQ steak sandwich with coleslaw was delicious. What more could you ask for. Cold drinks, raffles n smiles. If ever we're in the area again will definitely pop in.

Worth a look. A typical country pub. I've only ever used it to get a carton of beer in an emergency and it met my needs but have heard anecdotal reports that the food is pretty good.

It's the kind of place that I sometimes get up in the morning thinking about: I just NEED their rump steak with prawns topping! It's simply the best!Great food and very friendly staff.I give them 5 stars because I cannot give them 6!

A absolutely wonderful fishing community hotel to visit. I haven't been to ANY other pub that serves meals as big as what they serve here & at very reasonably fair prices . ALL the staff are wonderful people & always keen to share any local knowledge to the patrons. The owners are great people to talk to.I would highly recommend to anyone & everyone to call in 4a cold drink & or a great meal

Grabbed a couple of pizzas, while staying overnight. Two for $30, is pretty good, not many other places in Townsville are as good for that price. Both were nice, as expected toppings for both, not too over the top. Bases were cooked well, bit salty.
