My Partner and I had a fantastic experience at Castlerock. We tasted the range with Sam the assistant winemaker and his knowledge was amazing. It was great to chat with someone who is so passionate about wine. These guys really do things properly and it shows in the quality of the wine. Also had a Lovley relaxed feel, not pretentious or snooty what so ever. Will buy more wine from here in the future.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Castle Rock Estate. Wendy was warm and hospitable towards us, ensuring that we were attended to at all times. We were highly impressed by the wine tasting experience and recommend visiting this place.

The wines were amazing. Castle Rock Estate Riesling was exceptional and is destined to my cellar; not to be consumed for at least 10 years. I would rate their Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cab Sav very highly indeed. Because of the quality of the wines I found it hard to rate experience 4/5 but rate it I must. The experience was dampened by the hostess presenting the wines. She was no ambassador for the wines or the winery. Unless asked, no information was forthcoming. Even when asked we received only brief snippets. We felt raced through the tasting and found ourselves leaving far sooner than we would have preferred (after ordered our wine of course). Had she been anything like Sarah at Dukes I’m sure I would have purchase three times as much.

Quaint winery in beautiful surrounds with hospitable hosts. Visited during a slightly off-peak putrid and had a very warm experience.

Fantastic wines, but an ever better cellar door experience with Sam, who's expert knowledge, service and tips about the local region was exemplary. Highly recommend.

Warm white wine at a tasting, c'mon guys. Nothing tastes good at summer outside temperatures.

Lovely little cellar door in the wilderness of the Porongurups - Wendy was pouring the wines, giving us insights about the varieties, with a scenic view and a peaceful setting. Intense acidic Rieslings and a great Cabernet.

Of all the wineries I've been to throughout the world, this is the first where the cellar door actively discouraged customers from the opportunity to try their wines. After our 3rd selection, we were told we could only have 1 more out of the offered 6 tastings as we had tried each other's wines and this counted as an extra 'tasting'. While I can appreciate that there may be different interpretations to what is meant by 'tasting' , the whole issue could have been avoided by letting us know from the beginning that sharing is frowned upon, or just demonstrating any semblance of customer service ability instead of waiting until the 'gotcha' moment and starting an argument by accusing us of cheating the system".The host brought with him a sour attitude from the moment we walked in which really set the tone for the rest of experience. After bathing in defeat of only making it half way up Bluff Knoll, I quickly turned my attention to wine tasting. I interrupted Sam trying to eat his lunch but he went through the entire range, taking the time to explain each varietal and Giving me some pointers about the local area. I had a great experience and I even walked out with a couple whites (I don't usually drink white). I will be back next time I'm in the area.
