East Maitland Executive Apartments

I booked a studio apartment through qantas hotels based on the description that included a “fully equipped kitchen”. I prefer to cook for myself when I’m travelling for a week or more for business. Upon arrival I realised that the apartment is very spartan. There is no “fully equipped kitchen”. Just a toaster and a microwave. No pots or pans. Not sure how that’s fits their description. Also, there’s no place for hanging clothes or even placing my luggage. No rug. Just cold tiles. The tea and coffee supplied is cheap and nasty with no fresh milk. Very uncomfortable and unimpressive. I could’ve stayed in a cheaper and better equipped hotel closer to work! Picture of my room upon booking had a lounge. There’s no lounge here!! Just a small chair. So annoyed. I now have to eat out every day. In a hotel at least there would be a restaurant on site! Or room service. I paid more than a hotel to get less than a hotel!

We were due to check in on the 20th Dec right as the Covid19 outbreak was first emerging in Sydney. Which meant we had to make our way back to Victoria before they closed the borders, we called the Maitland Executive Apartments a day before our booking to advise them of the situation and to see if we could postpone or cancel the booking. We were told that they still had to charge for the booking as they are a small business and have already had so many cancellations. She went on to say they did not want to penalize anyone who is affected by Covid19 but they have to keep their 72 hour cancellation policy and to charge us for the booking, which they charged full price on the spot. We are motel managers in Victoria and have successfully coaxed a motel through 2 lockdowns. We are a small business and we still did not charge or penalize anyone who had to cancel due to restrictions as it is out of everyone's control. We thought it was pretty poor of these people to not even offer a future credit on the booking or any other resolution to the situation. We travel to Maitland regularly and will not stay at these apartments.

Very poor communication.When I arrived at 2pm, the front door was locked and was unable to enter the premises. Upon calling the company, it was revealed that there was no one operating reception. This was no communicated prior and had received no check in information previously. Check in was done over the phone.In additional, there was no information provided regarding check out, and the reception desk was not staffed. I once again had to call to ensure that check out was done properly so no additional charges would be received for a late/ improper checkout

The Apartment layout and Contents are Good. The common areas are Clean and I like the Keypad Entry setup.The Room however was VERY Dirty, and I mean Dirty. The Floor had not been cleaned since the place Opened by the Looks, the Tiles were so Dirty, the Lounge was Dirty. The Bed had someones Hair still on it. I don't think the Sheets had been changed.The Cleaning Staff are Killing the Reputation of the Apartments

Similar story to others. Booked on the day. About 1.5hrs after my booking they cancelled the room and sent me an email. Tried contacting them and they said they waited 1hr for payment and claimed to have tried calling, I recieved NO call and NO voicemail. The website clearly stated PAY LATER, so I assumed I would fix up the account when I arrived. Got hung up on by the lady when I said it was not good enough and mid sentence. Extremely disappointed. Now having to search around for alternate accommodation for a single mum and 2 little ones. Very poor communication.

The walls are paper thin. I spent three nights awake because neighbouring room/s made noises all night. I spoke to reception about possibly moving rooms or having them kindly ask the neighbouring room to keep it down. I was told I would be called back but never was. This has been a very unpleasant stay.

Perfect accommodation for a family of 4 and comfortable. When we checked in the freezer and cupboards weren't emptied and dryer lint tray was full.

I stayed in room 10b, which is a studio apartment. It was excellent. Clean, no smell, tiled floor, which I walked around in bare feet and didn't get dirty feet. I think that is an important note to be made. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was large with a great shower. The kitchen facilities were far more than what I required for a one night stay, Nespresso coffee machine (with 2 pods), microwave, toaster. Plenty of room in the wardrobe. Large balcony.I have one feedback note. A full length mirror would be good.

I have stayed with my family 3 times this year in these apartments and was booked for this weekend but had my booking cancelled by the property at short notice.When trying to contacting them to update payment details as they requested they didn't answer the phone and instructed me to email them . I emailed the property to and asked to be called back to provide payment. They didn't call me they just cancelled my bookingIt's a terrible process and very disappointing as a guest who has stayed at the property multiple times.

Very easy to get into an to find parking was great an was cleanish an fair for price I would stay again
