Box Hill Speech Pathology Clinic | Speech Therapy for Children Melbourne

I came in with my son, pretty nervous and worried. Vince was fantastic and my son had a great time. We started seeing results almost straight away. I would definitely recommend it to any parent worried about their child's progress with speech and communication. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. I wish there were more places like this that understand a parent's concern and worry.

I find the dealing with this clinic extremely unfriendly, disrespectful and upsetting. Having been to various healthcare settings in the past 10 years for mine and my families’ appointment, I have received better service even at understaffed bulk billing medical centres and public hospitals.Yes, I acknowledge speech pathologists are highly sought after and you often have to be on a waitlist to see one. But that doesn’t mean clients (busy parents and their kids) should be treated like rubbish just because you are not worried about not having enough patients.Firstly, they don’t claim any Medicare rebate on your behalf (fair enough). After paying the full fee ($270) for my son’s first appointment which is more than what I paid for a specialist (paediatrician appointment), I submitted the Medicare benefit claim filling out everything correctly. But it got denied by Medicare. After I raised it to the clinic, they told me to submit the claim again with the second appointment receipt (another $200). Their items numbers always worked. And after I submitted the first receipt again with the second appointment receipt. Medicare denied the benefit again advising item number 10970 is not payable for this provider. So I had to raise this to the clinic again asking for their clarification and help. The clinic’s response to me was that the item number always worked so it’s not their problem - ‘Once the invoice is paid I don’t have anything to do with the Medicare side of this’ and told me to sort this out with Medicare.After I called Medicare to seek clarification, Medicare told me it’s the clinic that needs to call their provider line!!!! After I informed the clinic this information they finally and reluctantly got on the phone with Medicare. It was another two follow ups with the clinic like I’m troubling and hassling them before I was told to submit the Medicare rebate claim for a third time (now I’m keeping my fingers crossed it won’t be denied again)….Also, worth mentioning is on my son’s second appointment on 18 Jan 2023, upon our arrival at their new location at forest hill, the clinic’s reception was casually chatting away with a lady at the back office. She saw me and my son arrived but gave no acknowledgement. We stood in front of the desk looking at her chatting for a good 5 minutes still got no response. Obviously, whatever they were casually chatting was way more important than patients. Bear in mind the clinic was quiet and had no other patient except for us. Eventually I couldn’t stand waiting for no reason and took my son away. Now I ask anyone who received this kind of treatment at any place that don’t feel like utter RUBBISH.I don’t think this clinic has any concept of service or understanding that they are actually a provider who should show clients some basic respect. I’m even questioning the integrity of the speech pathology profession is it just a money hungry hoax that can’t even bother to put in the effort to actually CARE.I’m warning anyone if you are a busy working parent you better take your hard-earned money and your precious child elsewhere before going through similar nightmare like mine.

We have been fortunate enough to be part of the Box Hill Speech Pathology family since late 2017.Sarah Young has been helping our son who is now 5 and half. We are so pleased to be in her capable hands and cannot praise her enough for her expertise, patience and kind and caring ways. She has such a beautiful nature and has worked hard to engage our son.Sarah has not only helped our son with his speech development, but also in other areas such as social awareness and preparing him for the structure of school. It has been a pleasure to work with Sarah to help him achieve his potential. She is an amazing support to me as well in trying to understand the struggles I have with our son away from the clinic and how she and other professionals can support us.Sarah is always generous with her time and knowledge. The clinic has a large range of resources to help target different areas of learning and keep children engaged.All the staff that work at the clinic are attentive and warm and friendly. It’s lovely to be welcomed by Trina or Amanda who are always smiling. I would have no hesitation in recommending the clinic to others.Thanks for all you do, Belinda McKay

very disappointing experience!!!!! They only give priority appointments to self-funded clients!!! When I reached out to make an appointment for my son, they initially offered the Saturday spot, but once they heard my son has an NDIS funding plan, in which they can only claim partially! They said he has to wait for at least one month!!!!! when I asked WHY their answer was they can earn more SELF-FUNDING clients!!! so they choose to offer priority to self-funded clients!! That's a shame to hear this from a clinic!!you are not deserved to work with CHILDREN! if your kids need speech pathology go somewhere where they don't just want out funds!!!

My son has been seeing Vicky Andrews for about 2 years and I highly recommend her. She is methodical, extremely knowledgeable and experienced with kids on the Autism Spectrum. She is inventive and tailors to his learning preference but most of all, she cares for him and puts his interest first among the teachers at school and with the other therapists. Vicky has changed his life and taught me how to help my son in a way that he gets it. Highly recommend!

My son has made remarkable progress with Vince Borg over the months we have been attending speech therapy at Box Hill Speech Pathology Clinic. We tried another Speech Therapist elsewhere, but Vince was the perfect match for my son. Vince knows exactly how to keep my son interested and has such an abundance of entertaining learning tools and strategies to maximise the outcomes desired.My son can't wait to go and visit Vince and certainly never wants to leave. I sincerely doubt there is another Speech Pathologist as fantastic as Vince out there.I highly recommend Vince Borg and Box Hill Speech Pathology Clinic.

I had my first consultation with Miss Steph Gribble just over two weeks ago and I can genuinely say the care and professionalism exhibited by Miss Gribble was of a very high standard. Miss Gribble's knowledge and ability to quickly ascertain what was needed for me to improve my speech is a testament to her dedication and commitment to her work.This friendly nature also extends to the reception staff, who were an absolute delight to work with. The 'ball got rolling' very quickly in terms of organizing an initial consultation and there was no hassle or extra effort needed regarding handing over relevant documents.I would highly recommend Miss Gribble and Box Hill Speech Pathology Clinic!

Rochelle Vizelman has seen both my children for 5 months now. Having been in and out of autism services for a decade with my kids, I rate Rochelle highly and have no need to look elsewhere. I am pleased with Rochelle's flexibility of appointment times and understanding of family issues. But best of all my kids have achieved each speech-related goal that we set for this year, and that's the main point here. Rochelle has also corrected our oral-facial issues in prep for braces.

My son's speech is pretty severely delayed. We had done some speech therapy elsewhere but changed to Box Hill Speech Pathology when we moved to the area. It is by far the best thing that we could have done for our gorgeous boy. Sarah Young is amazing, professional and just generally lovely. After only 6 sessions, everyone is commenting on how well my son is speaking and how much better his comprehension is. His kindergarten teachers are blown away by the improvements in both his receptive and expressive language. He is so much happier now that everyone can understand (most of) what he says and he is enjoying kindergarten and other activities much more. I cannot recommend the team at Box Hill Speech Pathology highly enough.
