Ocean Catch Fish & Chips

Despite the crazy wait time (being Good Friday it’s totally acceptable) this was the best Fish and Chips I’ve had since moving to the peninsula 3years ago. Definitely will be back. Prices reasonable. Customer Service fantastic and food crispy, well cooked and delicious. Thanks Guys. Happy Easter.

Ordered 1 hamburger with egg and 2 dim Sims .when I we t to pay the rude owner said $19 I looked stunned and he said we charge $3 surcharge today . I should have walked out , but mate I will never come back . If you want to open on a public holiday that's your problem . The way you speak to your young staff I am surprised you get people to work , by the way Hamberger was rubbish

Ordered $500 worth of fish and chips under different names and orders. It was professionally wrapped with name labels and boxed. For the amount of fish and chips it was done quite quickly considering peak season time. He also gave 4 bottles of coke for free along with half a dozen sauces. Overall very impressed

My partner and I went in to pick up our $70 worth of fish and chips for my family. When the staff asked if we wanted a bag, we said yes, the owner came over and said “you guys can carry it” and then went “you carry these” to me and to my partner “and you carry these” in a very rude manner.Fish and chips was alright, nothing special. Customer experience was terrible.Won’t be coming back or recommending this place to anyone after that.There’s better places in Mornington.

Came in today just for some chips as a small snack for my partner and I's long drive. The owner is by far one of the RUDEST AND STUCK UP PEOLE I HAVE EVER MET. Prices were so so ridiculously high. When we went to pay for our overpriced chips he very rudely snapped theres a $3 dollar extra surcharge. My partner is one of the nicest people in the world and didn't hear him properly and replied with cash thinking he asked if we were paying by card. He once again snapped doesn't matter $3 dollar extra surcharge! because I have to pay them (his staff). HOW RUDE!!! For the awful food to be so expensive and still add on an extra $3 surcharge is ridiculous. IF YOU DONT HAVE THE MONEY WHY ARE YOU OPEN ON A PUBLIC HOLIDAY??? Waiting for ages for the most simple of orders and to be abused by the owner is just plain wrong. STAY AWAY!!!

The fish and chips are amazing perfect salt amount and good bang for your buck, treat you like family and always quick. Shop feels a little cold or characterised but everything else is amazing

The salt was only sprinkled on the top layer of chips ,and not mixed throughout the remainder of the chips on several orders I saw while I waited. Had better chips.

Called up to put an order through tonight around 7pm, was told over the phone that it will be a 30 minute wait, arrived there a little after 30 minutes as quoted, and there were customers spilling out of the shop!Went to pay and was slightly confused, it looked as if they only printed out the docket to be paid- I thought the order was already being prepared and would have been ready at least 10ish or so minutes after we arrived there, but felt embarrassed to enquire about it, as the shop was packed, however we ended up waiting over an hour all up for it to come out.There were a few people that ordered before us that were still waiting when we left! Some even asking for refunds and being reassured their order will only be another '5 mins more.' I overheard a few customers saying they were quoted 30 minutes over the phone as well and were set back when they saw so many people already waiting.The staff at this place were working under the absolute pump in 33 degree heat to complete way too many orders at once, customers were waiting outside in the heat for ages, as there was no room in the shop, wondering why it was taking so long, while more and more seemed to arrive.I place this on the way the shop was ran by whoever was in charge tonight, whether it was the owner or a manager calling the shots, it was managed poorly.It was a public holiday today and this place seemed to be one of the only Fish and Chip shops running, so being busy was understandable, however, at least be honest with customers regarding wait times/if you already have SO many orders at once, disconnecting the phone would be an option, as people were arriving exactly as we did ready to collect their orders, but had to pay on arrival, and wait for it to get started instead.On a positive note, food was lovely and our order was received correctly, but please have more regard with what your staff can handle, ontop of drowning with orders, customers were getting frustrated with them when it isn't their fault that they have to do 1000 things at once- Tonight just appeared to be all about making a profit more then being organised.I'm hoping that this situation was due to the enhancement of a public holiday today, and isn't a regular occurrence, because we would like to order from here again in the future, with the hopes we won't see workers as slammed as they were today.UPDATE: Going through reviews, it does seem like this isn't a rare occurrence of paying for your order to start/the owner not treating their staff well. This is dissapointing to see, I truly hope things change, especially if I haven't been the only one to notice this.

Went to Ocean Catch to try a different fish and chip shop i will say, the excessive wait time for a burger, souvlaki and some chips. was rediculous, there was hardly anybody inside who had ordered, to be charged $40 for what we ordered was insane.when we got home i will say that we were very disappointed, i found a hair in my souvlaki, guessing from the young guy who does the packing, because he had some long hair with just a hat on… was not tied back.the food was disgusting, the burger was horrendous, and meat patty was not cooked properly.the chips were okay.will never be going back there again!
