Most of the trades contracted by Blackwood Building practice poor workmanship with zero attention to detail. Completed an independent building inspection that identified many issues crooked walls, uneven floor boards and the list goes on. The company seemed generally unorganised and acted bothered when I followed up on things to be fixed. The painter returned three times to fix paint on the stairs (pictured), yet made it look worse than before. Standard inclusions/selections are very basic and unappealing. On the bright side, most of the staff are very friendly and professional. We were allowed to make changes and add ons, which I appreciate.

We were building with another construction company and transferred to Blackwood and it was the best decision we made. The customer service was infinitely better, the standard inclusions were much better and the we are ecstatic with our home. Mick one of the owners was very good and Kane our site manager was exceptional from start to finish. Our home had some smart home inclusions and their electrical contractor was very good and very knowledgeable. Considering we built during Covid it was a painless and exciting process.

Blackwood Building Co.
It took the involvement of the QBCC and 14months after handover to have defects finished. Blackwood do not monitor the quality of their build and when questioned about this, Founding Partner Andrew Hadden labelled us 'disrespectful' and 'damaging to the builder client relationship'. Communication is poor at best, trades do not follow plans and problems are solved with cheap solutions which we have to live with.

The whole team at Blackwood Building Co have been a huge help.Very professional from the colour selection process through to weekly updates from the builder including progress photos of our house.We have been well informed the whole way and very excited to see our family home finished.There is a genuine excitement from all the staff about our house and we have felt very welcome whenever talking to them regarding our place.We would most definitely recommend Blackwood Building Co to anyone looking to build a quality and professional home.

From the first time I dealt with Mick and the guys at Blackwood I knew I had found the builder that I wanted to work with.Their communication is excellent and they actually listen to what you want and work with you, yet at the same time share their opinions with what they think will work.We've built before and the experience was nothing like the experience we've had with Blackwood.They may be a small business but they are huge on client satisfaction and are absolutely a cut above the rest! I would (and do) recommend them to anyone looking for a Building in SEQ.
