Squidlips

I went in there and it has a nice vibe. They have good customer service as they are very polite and while you wait they gave us free samples of brownies and caramel shortbread. Unfortunately though the wait time is quite long and for my my experience it was around 40 minutes which was acceptable due to it being quite busy. The food portions were pretty good other then the chips which were quite a small portion. Overall the food was very good the fish was well cooked, the chips were decently seasoned, and the squid almost had that perfect flavour and would nearly melt in your mouth. Solid 7/10

I'm not sure why the average rating is only 3.4 stars? We had a variety off the menu and it was all very tasty and there was plenty of it. Can't fault the service either so it's 5 stars from me. Thanks for a great meal guys!

Very expensive and low quality food. The fish and the pineapple fritters were cold when i got them. I have been 10 minutes in the shop and all this time the fish and the fritters that have been packet in my dinner were staying in the basket above the deep fryer. Both have been very oily and not crispy. The chips were ok but not very fresh, like cooked snd reheated.One portion of pineapple fritters was $3.5 and contain just one piece of pineapple. More expensive that squid ring that were 5 for $10. I buy pineapple fritters all the time in Perth and they costs $1.5 each. When i asked the owner and i mention that, he was very rude.The wait was10 min longer than waiting time advised over the phone. The box that had the pineapple fritters in dripped oil on the fish and chips paper.I have been in Dunsborough area as a tourist several times and i ate at least once fish and chips from Squidlips. I thinks the management changed lately and food and service are pretty badI'll not be back. Not for this food nd not to be served by rude people. I'm sure that are other fish and chips shops around where at least i'll be respected as a client.

Quite underwhelmed and disappointed for a supposed “gourmet twist”. We spent $66 for 3 people, just to get a piece of fish and dimsim each and a shared box of $6 chips.The chips were lukewarm and floury and the dimsims that had a “gourmet” batter ruined the flavour of the dimsim. Only highlight was the fish was nice. Overall, we found this was severally overpriced and the quality of food was not of a satisfactory standard.

We got barramundi and one serve of chips and it was so fresh and delicious. It is pricey but the fish is fresh and they were generous portions. We saw them filleting the fish as well so I think you pay for what you get. We would recommend calling through first as well. There were a lot of people who ordered over the phone so we had to wait about 25 minutes

Very very very pricey.Grilled snapper with lemon pepper $25 (tiny)Hake (shark) and chips $18Single serve salad $7$50 for a meal for 2 that didn't go close to being satisfying ... I know all about over heads and cost of fish but this was over the top. The grilled piece was the most disappointing piece of fish I've ever been served. There was no need for a seperate box to display the tiny size. Sorry to be so harsh but I'm quiet disillusioned by the whole experience.

I had a terrible experience at Squid Lips in Dunsborough. The barramundi I received was absolutely disgusting, and I couldn't even manage to finish it. The dim sims were also poorly battered and tasted terrible. But the real kicker was the ridiculous prices for such low-quality food. The only reason I chose the Barra was because the local choice was a ludicrous $24 per piece!! NEVER, not even in this current financial climate have I come across something so ridiculously priced.It was by far the worst fish and chips I've ever had and one of the most expensive too.Needless to say, I will never return to this establishment and would strongly recommend others to beware. See attached what $110 gets you and the uncooked fish we couldn’t pull apart.We had wanted Chinese this evening but unfortunately they were closed.

Called to arrange pickup, took twice as long as quoted time (The shop didnt even appear to be busy though).Chips where not good at all.Fish and squid rings where ok yet light on portions and very expensive compared to other shops even though we just ordered standard items.This was the second time going to squidlips during our trip and the first time they forgot an item in our order, was hoping second time would be better.

Great selection of fish to choose from and the squids are pretty good as well. I had the combo and it came with prawns, scallops and of course fish and chips. Pretty decent taste, much better than the ones I tasted some place else in Perth city.Seats are minimal and you do have to wait for your food. Come on weekends or a long holiday and you will be sure of a full house.Good place for food when in Dunsborough.
