Karoonda Park

I didn't stay here but the owners helped me out in an act of great generosity. I was on my way by push-bike to Suggan Buggan and called in to see if I could get some snacks which I needed for lunch the following day. The owner ended up making me a salad roll, and threw in two Anzac biscuits, some chips, and two muffins, and when I asked how much he said $5-$10"! I ended up paying $10 which was still great value. Made my day."

There isn’t a better place to stay. The owners really looked after us. And the home cooked meals...wow!

What an amazing place. Everyone was so kind. I could only wish that I had a school camp here. I am so thankful to Paul, Judy, Bridget, Luke, Cameron, Figgsy, Zed and Spike. Decided to ride this route home from Phillip Island after the Superbike races this year - OK, not such a good idea given it was wet, I was on a road bike, and this road has 100kms of very narrow, twisting, loose dirt to traverse in the Kosciusko National Park (Google doesn't mention the dirt!), but it seemed a more direct route through to Jindabyne and I wanted to visit the area after the recent bush fires and maybe spend some money along the way.Google maps on my iPhone said there was a service station at Seldom Seen, 10 or so k's along from this place, so I didn't fill up back at Buchan. Well apparently there WAS a service station - before the fires that swept through here some 6-7 years prior!Fortunately, the very good people here at Karoonda Park were able to help me out. Karoonda does sell Unleaded and Diesel fuel, though not listed on the maps as a fuel outlet.I was also able to purchase a cheap, wholesome lunch. Lunch had been put on for the Blazeaid volunteers who were here helping out after the fires.Karoonda Park seems to be mainly for school camps - the next one is due in a couple of weeks - but according to their brochure is available for families and other groups with a variety of accomodation styles available. Reckon I might have to organise a group to come here for rafting on the Snowy River.Well worth a visit.

Went to this place a few days ago, it was spectacular! Everything about the place was exceptional, except for the fact that the cabins and activities were all around the place, it was very hard to locate where was where. The cabins were also pretty basic, but other than that, the food and hospitality they provided was amazing!

Stayed there a few years ago, the cabins are nice and clean and the family that run it are amazing you couldn’t ask for anything more and the food is fantastic also cooked great and heaps of it, this place is 10 out of 10 I will definitely be going back there in the future.

Stayed there some years ago and just looked up that page again because I loved it so much! I stayed there for a month and it turned me into a country girl. Very special place for me!

Was such a great place. Great food great staff great experience. 10/10 couldn’t fault anything.

Geat people, good food, the accommodation is very basic, this place is an aussie icon, price could a little less.
