Terrible experience with Dean today.Came into the store with a desktop PC that wouldn't turn on. He said could be due to the stormy weather or faulty parts. Dean claimed he can easily help with my problem.Dean said he will have to unplug the components and re connect them. Next will be a diagnostic test to make sure no faulty parts are present. This was quoted to take 1, maybe 2 hours and cost $55.I left the PC with Dean. At the hour 3 mark. I called to check progress. no answer. Voicemail was left to no reply.At 4.5 hours I went back to store. Was told they were super busy and couldn't answer phone but my PC is still in diagnostics and is 30 mins away.After deciding to wait in the car our front. 5 minutes later was told it's only 10 mins away & within that 10 minutes. He'd left the store twice to go to his car and walk down the street. After he got back I was told my PC was ready.The results of 4.75 hours.Diagnosis - Nothing was majorly wrong, High chance being due to the stormy weather lately, he thinks some diagnostic results lean towards bad monitor but unsure.What was done to my PC? Was told they unplugged and re-connected everything, and ran a diagnostic test.I asked to see the PC working and start up and this is where the conversation started to take a turn. Dean made such a drama saying yes of course its definitely working, they do this all the time. I re iterated I wanted to see it working before paying. He huffed and said now I have to clear the desk and make room for it". It did seem to be fine so was happy.I was then told to pay $89 for the service. I questioned the price and said that not what you told me when I came in. He denied it and he's always charged $89 and what makes me so special that it would be $55. (Great customer service). He then proceeded to tell me it's $89 for all the extra hours work he had to put into it.I tried to call him at the 3 hour mark but no response. If it did need longer and was going to cost more

Highly recommend the team at Coolum Computers. They were professional, very helpful and friendly with their advise over the phone. After being told the wait time would be over an hour for customer service to help me by my current provider. Coolum Computers provided some simple guidance that led me to the solution, [which was embarressingly right in front of me]. They even called back straight away when i left mesage believe or not! Nothing beats good local customer service!!!Thanks Fellas..Keep up the good community work!!

Had a very good condition laptop with battery charging issue, took it and charger to shop. He advised he would check battery and charger and swap out some parts from spares he had to see if battery or charger issue.Literally months pass and no calls at all until I return to check. Apparently the expert could not fix it and I took the laptop home and bought a new battery for only $50- installed it, only to find he had stolen the 1TB hard drive from the laptop and it would not start up.Took it back and he blamed his sidekick for stealing it and installed a 500GB (not 1TB) hard drive and surprise surprise the laptop works fine now.so basically he could not fix a simple dead battery issue (only cost me $50 to to it myself) and STOLE parts from my computer and replaced them with inferior parts when caught out.Didn't charge me a cent as he knew he was wrong.

I had a complex computing problem that had brought a crucial part of my business to a halt. The specialist who attended to our issue was dedicated, smart and ultimately successful. A terrific result.
