Rivergum Homes

Preconstruction our sales rep was absolutely exceptional. Once the ball got rolling it just continued to go down hill, communication was appalling. My suggestion is that if you are building or looking to buy with Rivergum, don’t make your final hand over payment till you’re happy with everything because after 8 months being in our home, ours is still incomplete.

Where do I start, Rivergum can certainly build a house fast, but they give a whole other meaning to quality. At every stage during the build something went wrong, from the concrete slab in the wrong place, to carpenters not making sure door jams are level, painters painting walls which weren't sanded, cracked baths, cracked stone bench tops, scratched up gutters the list goes on. They even tried to gyprock the walls before insulation was installed, and what did the gyprock guys say? Not our problem mate"Rivergum couldn't even answer their phones during the build

If I could give rivergum homes no stars I would. I for one totally understand the current environment and know that times are tough for this industry at the moment. But the lack of communication and total lack of empathy has left me leaving this review so poor. I can't speak for the quality of our home yet as it's still not finished but the staff they have running the office side of things are totally unless. Not to mention the sales staff that feed you lies to get you a contract in the first place. Honestly please don't build with rivergum it's totally not worth the stress. I find it very hard to believe that they can't provide their customers detailed updated on they homes when the status is 92%" complete. All the other negative reviews are 100% accurate to our build also. I really hope this helps someone from all the heart ache we have endured during this process. What was supposed to be a dream house and exciting experience has turned into nothing but a horrible one."

Build quality is bad, very rough, pretty bad. It seems they don’t reply to any after sell emails as well. Tap leaking, lights not working, cupboard cracking, kicking line getting off… all kinds of thing happening in 2 year old house built by River Gum. But thanks to you, I became a handy man now.

Do not ever build your home with them.. they are not responsible builders and they do not take responsibility for what they built.. They point fingers at others when something goes wrong and never take the responsibility for what they do so why take that risk to build your forever place  with them.. The staff is not very supportive when we need to do it our way and the work is undoubtedly mediocre. I would recommend to spend your money elsewhere where you could easily get a premium job done in other firms based in Adelaide such as Sterling homes, Hickinbotham group or Metricon.

Some aspects have been great. Majority not so great. Would be nice if they actually answer your calls, stop making excuses & actually fix the major problems! Maybe by leaving this review someone will reach out and actually action ongoing problems. Some stuff still hadn't been fixed after a year of notifying - been plenty of time to fix some stuff before handover. We have been patient enough and now it's to a point 1 month after moving in and having so many problems.Communication is appalling. Nothing gets done. Site manager we had has been arrogant majority of the time and talks down to you.We are at our wits end with this company. Not professional.

Free upgrade to mold in your childrens' bedrooms!If you want free upgrades to mold in your childrens' bedrooms then Rivergum can do that for you. What kind of builder puts the internal walls up before the roof has been completed! As a result of their incompetence and lack of project management (despite my warnings this would happen), these rooms now have to be stripped back and lined all over again; just what you need when there is a lack of building materials and labour already delaying the project. As a result, the house on which we signed a contract 18 months ago is still not complete and actually going backwards. The 18 week" build is currently at 36 weeks from when they started the groundworks!Don't put yourselves through the stress....choose another builder.If I could have given a 0 star rating I would have."

We built through Rivergum in 2017 and found it mostly a smooth process. Staff were helpful and responsive, we were guided through the selections process, and later the build. We're still happy living in our Rivergum Home, and have chosen to build with them again (for an investment property). They continue to be helpful and transparent throughout the process.

Don’t touch this company with an 10 foot pole.Unethical business practices.You get full bank approval so they try to increase the cost by $36K. You then need to cancel and lose your deposit and they try to email you several months later demanding more money. Providing no proof of costs incurred even when requested and take 3-4 months to reply to an email.They post fake 5 star reviews to try and lull you into a false sense of security… it was so obvious when two photos of reviews were the same for two different “people”.I’ve had multiple people send me photos of their low quality finished houses from Rivergum. I also know that a few houses in my local area are now into their 3rd year of building. Some may not even pass inspection due to the terrible workmanship.Your money is better spent elsewhere than with Rivergum.
