It was completely ruined by the renovation. The old place with the museum and the Cafe & Craft shop had charm and character. Won't be going to the butter factory anytime in the future.

Eats and Beats, first time experience. Took the grandchildren, we all had a fantastic night. Lots of awesome entertainment and yummy foods and beverages. Love it.

Went there yesterday to join the Bayanihan event. Far from the city but I'd say a good place to hold events. It's near the train station so if you're commuting, transport is not a problem.

Butter Factory is now a full cultural and community experience. So if youre looking for butter factory stuff, this isnt what its about. There were big screen videos of local indigenous folk, talking about their lives, which was quite interesting. Clothing design, and interactive section, photos and general community info. The museum is full of memorabilia from 50s, 60s and further back. The cafe was a treat, and although meals were very small, they were reasonably priced, and their lovely service came in a quaint environment with old fine bone china teacups. High Tea looked really delicious. Good place for little ones day out, with a playground attached and plenty of open spaces. Or for the aged to take a peek at years gone by and enjoy a light lunch afterwards. Some interesting characters to meet while you're there too :)

It was completely ruined by the renovation. Uninviting, cold, drab, and not interesting. The old place with the great musium and the tuck shop/Cafe had charm and character.

This place is too loud for local residents. I live near by and have attended just to see the hype only to find junkies and eshays. Stay clear of the area including the Kingston train station nearby on event nights. I've walked home after events only to be robbed in one night and harrassed for money and cigarettes. This place should be shut down. I have reported to police who don't want to attend this location. Speaks volumes for Kingston and the eshay community in the drug fuelled area. Shame in the venue operators for not providing a more conscientious and safer environment for locals. Shame on Kingston butter factory zero stars

Good facilities for markets. The exhibition in the main building was interesting, too.

This was a great place to see local history now they’re moving out the museum and it’s being converted into a community hub. Let’s see if this is a successful contemporary use for this building.
