CUBA BAILA - Cuban Dance

A massive highlight of 2019 was 4 days workshop with Yarima&Miguel from Cubanbaila.They created a welcoming environment where everyone had a lot of fun, learned new dancing moves, understood rhythmical patterns of traditional Cuban music, listened to a real African drum set and last but not least were lucky to watch Yarima & Miguel dance like only Cubans could dance :) :) :)Also, Yarima&Miguel showed different aspects of Cuban folk dancing. It was easy to follow their guidance although some moves were complicated, especially the synchronisation of body moves with foot work. If someone had a difficulty, Yarima did everything she could to help out and it was effective.Overall, I had a great time and looking forward to do it again.Highly recommend to everyone who love dancing & want learn more about it.

I have enjoyed many lessons with Yarima.She is a wonderful, talented authentic cuban Salsa teacher.She has a gentle and patient way to introduce and teach all aspects of the music and the dance.I introduced my dear friend, a young autistic man to have some private lessons.This followed with Yarima teaching a class at his 21st Birthday Party.Yarima has the ability to see what is needed to meet each student at there level and needs.Patiently introducing, layer upon layer, plus the ability to have fun.What a joy for him music, rhythm coordination and he was dancing. This built up his confidence.The private lessons and the party were so much fun.The party a group of special needs, family and friends joined the class.Every one enjoyed themselves and we all look forward to continue class with Yarima.Once you see Yarima smile you leave the lesson enriched.I highly recommend to have class with her.

I went to Cuba with the Cuban Baila tour group in December and it was one the best trips of my life! The trip was fun, safe, memorable and met some amazing people! Yarima made sure we were all taken care of. Having someone who knows there way around Cuba definitely made the trip even better = Less stress. I met some amazing people that was apart of the group I can call life long friends and will definitely be going back back to the dance school. Highly recommended to anyone!

Starting this review by saying how difficult it is to find quality Salsa instructors in Sydney. Especially affordable ones! As someone who started off very nervous, expecting the unexpected, I was pleasantly surprised at how patient and determined Yarima is in making sure you understand the footwork involved. She brings a level of excitement and intense joy that must come from her Afro-Cuban roots. She starts and ends every class with a huge smile and words of encouragement. Yarima has a supportive network of instructors that also assist those that are having issues counting out the steps (1,2,3,..5,6,7!) such as Helen, Pilu, Zuleika, Veronica, etc.. I definitely used them especially when I found myself banging into others and stepping on my own feet. I am happy to say after 8 weeks of beginners classes and a bit of social dancing on other days, I am no longer banging into others and stepping on feet! I made some pretty awesome friends in the Salsa Community and will definitely keep it up by continuing with Yarima’s Beginners 2 and later the Intermediate and Advanced classes. Also, she organizes trips to Cuba to dance and experience the amazing culture that is Cuba. Get on it guys!

Yarima is a vibrant, charismatic, professional, patient and fun dance teacher. She lives and breathes Cuban flavour, this is what our area on the Northern Beaches needs! Go to dance with Yarima. I have been having private dance classes for two terms now and will continue. This is the highlight of my week. I am ready to hit the dance floor and also wanting to go on a Cuban tour with Yarima in the next couple of years. Thank you for bringing such joy and freedom of spirit into my life x

Yarima lessons are great fun to enhance a smother salsa solo dance self understanding, allignment, confident & controled movements.Learn, practice and integrate all different styles of rumba, mambo and son into solo salsa it's very important for a good footwork and body movements free self expression.it does and will make a huge difference to your day participating to Yarima classes; happy, joyfull, positive and serene vibes will accompany enegetic music to dance with.Every experience level, body condition, coordination level and background is welcome and able to move flowing with bits;I have an injury and I can do what possible with arms and mostly concetrating with hips legs feet. Definitely also possible and highly enjoyable to flow with the music dance also with other types of injuries as the goal is to feel good, connect with music and have fun!Xxxx

Dancing with Yarima is a breath of fresh air. She has an infectious smile and is warm and encouraging. She attracts other great dancers and teachers to her class so it is a wonderful dance community. Every week I get energised from Cuban salsa classes and life just looks that much better again. Thanks Yarima, keep shining that brilliant smile. Yarima is the most vivacious and wonderful person that I have ever met. Yarima is the owner and primary teacher and she has an energy level second to none! She is an amazing dancer/performer in her own right and the Cuban Salsa Queen of Australia!!
