My family has always been involved in sport and volunteered many hours in basketball. I have great appreciation for volunteering and passionate people. But. The Current president is so Inappropriate in his language both when speaking and writing newsletters. You can’t call little boys with long hair “sissy boys”. You can’t say “some kids are no good at all”. Yes we want kids to always try and no I don’t support a ribbon for everyone but you can’t tell little kids they are no good.In the lapathon fundraiser the winner of the lapathon got a certificate and the kid in each age which raised the most money got a huge trophy which said top sponsor. No kid is proud of a sponsor trophy for one and secondly what a contradiction to buy huge expensive trophies and gloat at the price of the trophy’s when the goal of the event is to raise money?There is absolutely no structure on Saturdays. You never know what events the kids will do, especially the little ones. They just fill in where there is space and generally don’t get on the 100m track.Each week kids are given a piece of paper with previous weeks results to stick in their book which they hand back at end of season for calculation. Lose your ticket then too bad. Age manager counts the winners and trophies given at end of season. No one checks the calculation. This year our book showed points were calculated wrong. When I showed evidence of this to the club I was told “oh well”. Surely if your going to make a big deal about winners then you need to double check and make sure it’s going to the right kids
