Rod is the best manual driving instructor ever. If we are not in lockdown, I would've had more lessons! But he is absolutely amazing teacher, not only passionate of what he does, but also he knows how to upskill or boost your confidence!

What is the highest licence I can upgrade to, from a car licence?Class HR, however you must have manual car driving experience as you will be driving a Roadranger (Constantmesh gearbox) or a 9-speed Synchromesh gearbox. You must also hold a Class C (2nd year of Green P-Plates) or higher. See our 1 & 2 Day Courses page for course availability. What is the difference between a Constantmesh and Synchromesh Gearbox? The difference between getting your HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence in a synchromesh gearbox or a constantmesh is that the Heavy Rigid licence will be issued with a condition-b because your heavy vehicle training and assessment has been carried out in a vehicle with a synchromesh transmission (or gearbox). The condition - B (restriction) is also applied to training conducted in a heavy rigid truck with automatic gearbox.ABC Driving School offers courses in all transmission types:Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence Course - automatic gearbox - Western SydneyHeavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) Licence course - synchromesh gearbox - Western Sydney & Central CoastHeavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) Licence course - constantmesh (or roadranger) gearbox - Western Sydney, Central Coast, Kogarah & WollongongHow can I remove a B-Restriction" from a Class HR or HC?To remove a B Restriction from a HR or HC Licence you must sit a Competency Test in a HR (Heavy Rigid) vehicle with a constantmesh or roadranger gearbox. There are three options available to you.Apply for and sit a 'Short Manual Driving Test' with the RMS where you will be tested on your ability to control the vehicle using a Constantmesh gearbox.Wait 12 months and upgrade to the next licence class using HVCBA in a Constantmesh vehicle.Call one of our Heavy Vehicle Training Centres and ask about completing a Competency Test or 'CT' in one of our Heavy Rigid (constantmesh) trucks. Prices will vary depending on your experience. Call your local centre for further details. Arndell Park (near Eastern Creek); Kogarah; Central Coast; or Wollongong.I wish to join the NSW Ambulance Service

I can’t even begin to express how unprofessional my “instructor” Larry from Arndell Park was . I don’t think I’ve ever used a title so loosely. Incredibly, he even had the audacity to call my employer after I choose to leave at (his) cigarette break number 3 to tell them I wasn’t interested in learning. Bloke is a stain on education, avoid at all costs. Unfortunately it’s his franchise which is the only reason he’s still in a job. Go somewhere else, save yourself the pain of being in this bloke’s presence and learn from someone who isn’t interested in smoking cigarettes, teaching incorrect procedures and the rest of the rubbish out of his mouth. By all accounts the women in the office were lovely though, I feel bad for them really.

I had the pleasure of sharing the road with an ABC learn to drive school on 12/2/2018 at 6.10-6.15pm on Sydenham Rd Marrickville. I was totally shocked and surprised by the lack of road courtesy and rudeness of this driving instructor just because I was on the left lane and he was on the right lane at the lights. I passed over him and was in front. Nothing wrong with this move. On the next junction of traffic lights there was a car turning right and I moved to the left lane to go straight, there were parked cars and each car in front of me proceeded to move/merged back to the right, whilst other cars gave the courtesy of one car merging back onto the right. Unfortunately for me the ABC driving instructor sped up to purposely not let me back on the lane even though my front was already out to merge, a move that could’ve potentially caused an accident. I was surprised that a learner would do such a thing so I beeped as a ‘what in the world are you teaching this learner?!’ And to my surprise the driver of the car plate number BD34UQ was the instructor himself. I was shocked at his road manners! Next thing he proceeded to keep breaking in front of me to cause unnecessary stress worse case accident and then, he gives me the finger! So I gave him back two!! Worse he then from his back mirror started to use his point finger on his head indicating I was crazy rather than focusing on his driving! On the next junction he takes out his mobile and starts to take pictures of my car. I was appalled. How could this person be in a position to teach future students to drive when he is not just a horrible driver but a rude person. How can ABC employ such a person giving its name a bad reputation. I would never recommend your driving school to anyone I know and will happily post on social media about my frightening experience. It was a horrible and frightening experience.

Had my lessons with Shaun, after not driving for 20 years.I found him to be very professional and informative, and at the same time putting my nerves at ease.Passed first attempt, which I give him full credit for.My opinion....highly recommended. Thanks Shaun.

I had a horrible experience. Driving instructor was uneducated and unprofessional. Booked a 1 hour lesson only to be behind the wheel for 10 minutes. Not happy

I completed the One Day Light Rigid course with the Instructor Larry. He was a fantastic instructor, extremely helpful and made the whole day very enjoyable. Both Juliet and Larry went above and beyond to fit me in time to complete my NSW Ambulance induction course at late notice. I couldn't give a better recommendation.

I had two lesson with John from Sutherland shire , he was a very bad instructor, killed my confidence and didn’t show me anything I wanted. He just waited to finish lesson time and didn’t tell me what to improve. I converted my international licence, I took another lesson with different instructor and passed the test. Very very poor instructor.
