Great River Walk

It is a good walk down the river in Penrith .

Very nice place for a stroll along the banks of the river , or a walk with a a friend or family . The walkway is fairly well maintained , has a few slight hills and lots of shady sections along the way . There are information boards along the way with some interesting facts and historical pictures . There are plenty of places to stop for a break and some very pretty scenery along the walk . Didnt see any bubblers along the way , which would be handy , or any toilets along the walk . But there are toilets available in Weir reserve which is adjacent to the walk .There is The Coffee Club at one end and the Rowing Club near the end of the walk , which is nice to drop in for a cleansing refreshing ale and a good feed . Warning keep an eye out for snakes , there are snakes ,this is bushland .

They don't call it the Great river walk for nothing , a very pleasant and even challenging walk , beautiful scenery, cool cafes , and now with a good , safe pedestrian bridge. Just a great couple of hours besided the river but do the more scenic lower shady part of the walk.

Great Wheelchair-accessible destination but only via the Yandhai Bridge. The Nepean River M4 Bridge approaches are not wheelchair accessible therefore the entire walk is not able to be accessed.

A very nice walk with some very nice views along the water. A lot of fishing going on along the banks of the river. Some birds and ducks on the water and some lizards moving in the bushes too. It was a nice walk. I enjoyed it.

Great place to have a stroll but it hasnt been fully recovered after the flood. Went there in april and jun 2022.

Peaceful relaxing quiet nature walk with easy trekking grounds ..footpaths directing the direction of the walk.. this nature reserve is frequented by locals... & rowing club members as the Nepean rowing club is right next to the car park you can get cafe style meals there with great views as it over looks the Nepean River... This is great place for bird watching as we found many native birds here on the walk.. surrounded by silence & bird calls especially the New Zealand bell bird call.. along the walk you can read up on historical inscriptions at certain parts of the walk very informative in regards to how the Nepean River was founded & occurrences of historical flooding events... nice to bring a friend to enjoy a picnic or cup of coffee here.. car park available but grounds close at sunset.. lovely scenic walk especially at sunset with the sun reflecting off the water creating a great setting for nature photography..

Beautiful place ,,, good for walk and if you want to spend some time its quiet place neat and clean

Amazing place to spend weekend,fantastic walk and views,good restaurants and cafe to get ice cream and lunch after long walk.

Great Place for an evening Walk. Great Sunset View with an outstanding view of the bridge. Suitable for family picnic as well. just Wonderful.
