Gatton Hospital

I went into the accident & emergency in severe pain.The facilities are run down in line with the governments neglect of regional hospitals, HOWEVER, the staff, from the lady at reception all the way through to the nurses and the doctors are very switched on, very professional, caring and we knew what was happening as soon as they did.We didn't have to pry information out of them.During my visit there were students learning the ropes and the doctor explained, not just to them, but to the nurses and myself, in detail how to carry out tests. Very impressed as I am used to being treated like a mushroom at public hospitals.As soon as they worked out that my problem was beyond the capabilities of the hospital they arranged transfer to St Andrews in Ipswich.Finally, I was stunned to read the negative reviews as my experience was total opposite to what was written.

Absolutely wonderful ER drs and Nurses. So caring and lovely. Looked after me so well, fast into xray room, meds administrated swiftly to help with my pain. Highly recommend their genuinely caring attitude and talking to you as a human not just a patient.

Literally the most useless pathetic hospital I’ve EVER been to. Currently 26 weeks pregnant w a fractured rib and Chest infection, haven’t felt the baby move and alerted them to this to be REFUSES ENTRY to the PUBLUC HOSPITAL. was met at the door and told I wasn’t going to even be examined because there is quote on quote “nothing we can do, just take Panadol” . DISGUSTING.

Took my level 3 asd grandchild to the emergency department due to very bad tonsillitis. The nurse met us at the door and rudely said if he didn't have a covid test he couldn't be treated. I had tried to explain he had 2 tests and both were negative and due to his asd he was only able to do a saliva test and she said nope not good enough. She didn't even ask about his symptoms just refused treatment. What has the medical profession come to when they will turn an 8 year old autistic boy away with no help. I get there is covid but the should be a solution to children or any person with a disability who can't do a nasal swab other then to refuse treatment. He has not eaten in 3 days and is already under weight due to his daily medication. Shame on gatton hospital and Queensland health.

I cannot believe the incredible care & devotion the Gatton Staff show to their patients. My husband came from Ipswich Hosp where he was not shaved cleaned kept tidy. Just disgusting The Staff at Gatton Hosp had Jeffery in the shower -shaved -hair washed - looking handsome in no time. I ring at all hours someone is always there to talk to me. Bless these wonderful people for their dedication to their job. I shall be forever grateful. Thank you

The staff were absolutely excellent! There is honestly no comparison between other hospitals, particularly Ipswich, in there delivery of sincere care and true patient centred focus. I have never had a doctor that was so empathetic, patient, understanding and calm. The staff that are the foundation of Gatton hospital are a perfect example of what every other hospital must aspire to be!

I wouldn't go their if my life depends on it. I know afew ppl nd a person today 3rd April 23 was turned away. He can hardly walk nd in alot of pain. THEIR SHOULDN'T BE A HOSPITAL HERE IN GATTON AT ALL THEY DONT CARE IF UR SICK HURT OR ANY OTHER STATE. THEY TURN U AWAY

All staff have gone above and beyond in not only caring for our mother so beautifully, but also caring for us throughout Mums palliative care. We can’t thank the Gatton Hospital team enough.
