Very nice but hypocritical that it is noted 'discovered' on the plaque yet Captain Cook monument is vandalised and the First Fleet monument up the road in Hunter Street does not have lights or any maintenance! Let's not mention the discriminatory statues outside the Maq1 building....oh I forgot there were no male convicts who helped build this town from nothing! But, great monument to Abel Tasman he was a great seafarer.

Красивый мемориал, посвящённый человеку, чьё имя дало название острову и штату - Абелю Тасману. Памятник очень хорош для рассказа детям истории, с одновременной демонстраций того, как все было. Вода, текущая здесь, даст вам прохладу в жаркий день, как и листва деревьев. Впрочем, вряд ли в Хобарте будут настолько жаркие дни, чтобы искать защиты от жары около этого памятника. Рядом знаменитая Саламанка с её пабами и ресторанами. Ещё в минуте ходьбы полноценный парк...
