UQ Sport Tennis Centre

Just want to thank the UQ Sport staff for finding my necklace that was lost in the midst of the tennis courts! You guys are life savers and honestly so friendly - very grateful thanks guys!

Love having a hit on these courts, they are well maintained and have a nice even bounce, the lighting is also good at night time. Only downside is if you want free parking, its about a 10 minute walk as it costs money to park on campus.

Great courts just resurfaced in purple and green. Highly recommend the club fixtures and social tennis. Great for all standards with multiple grades and practice sessions if you haven't played before.

Lots of courts but for such a big tennis centre they should have some more seats and shade sails for viewing when there are tournaments and fixtures on, I have played tournaments there and i know there is a lot of tournaments and no shade for spectators to watch.

I play socials at the club.. Its very good as they grade you and you can play with many different players around your level. Of late, it has become too crowded and the wait time between the sets is pretty high. I used to play 3-4 sets in 2 hours earlier and now I can manage only 2 sets due to the crowd. A few courts have their lights broken. If those can be fixed, may be the situation will improve.

They have increased court costs to help pay for improvements". The other day we wanted to play but were told there were no courts. Strange because 8 courts were empty. When we pointed this out we were told by the staff that "they were locked". When asked why they said "We don't know - the manager told us to lock them." So we had to go across town to Morningside where we were welcomed. Seems a strange way of operating - to close some courts with no explanation

Great Saturday morning Coach, however his great coaching abilities are completely undermined by a very disorganised and unfriendly administration who are unfortunately extremely incompetent to deal with... from informing us both a group class was available, and then after one of us had paid, telling us they had made a mistake and only one spot was actually available at that time, then providing us the incorrect timetables compared to the one listed on the website for the new class we signed up for, being told one policy by the manager regarding covid make up lessons via email, to a completely different story by the rude and disinterested staff in the shop on the Saturday morning, interrupting the group class half way through the lesson to inform the coach that they had accidentally booked out the court to another party and then making the class relocate, not confirming if the coach will also be taking the class in the new term before we sign up again.... the organisation was a complete mess from the start, left a very unprofessional impression, and sadly will not be returning as a result.

The courts are great, new and well maintained. The group coaching has been fantastic, Marshall is a great coach and the environment is very welcoming for beginners like us! We have a great time in our classes and have improved very quickly.The pricing to hire a court is very expensive, so even though we love these courts, we have a lifetime tennis membership for $27 a month to use their courts for practice or social hitting instead. Group coaching is expensive here too, but I find it worth paying for as the coaches are great!The shop is very disorganised when it comes to organisation of group classes. When classes get rained out, it can take weeks to get a makeup class confirmed or a credit to your account (don't even think about a refund, it won't happen!). The general response when asking a question is that the coaching manager will send out information shortly" - I'm not sure I've ever received information from the coaching manager
