Here is the great spot however the guy with mustache(Asian look with tattoos) was terribly aggressive… he shouldn’t be at the front or any customer service.I just asked my order is ready or not, but he yelled me “ I already called you !!!” And I asked my friend to come and get the food ( because I had bag on my hand) then he said with so loud voice”Hey!! Where are you going!?!” I was so scared and shocked…I went to toilet and I wasn’t near the counter, but I don’t understand why he was so upset at me. I know it was busy time during new year, but he shouldn’t take it out on me. I never go again.Be careful with that guy.

Four of us went to have some fish and chips. We all felt sick afterwards. Luckily we felt better the next day in the morning. Either the fish was old, or not refrigerated properly, oil never changed or something else. I've been here once before and didn't have any issues but this time I did. And it was confirmed when all of us didn't feel well. For me I only ate fruits in the morning so this was my first meal of the day at 4pm so I am 100% sure it was the fish. Not risking it again and will not come back.

Give me 50¢ size of fish cocktail when I paid $2 each fish cocktail.... Such a rip off... Stay away from this place

Let's have a look and keep it simple:Service:-Nice and friendly, could do with a smile though.Food:-Go for the deep fried barramundi that's pretty good, the grilled version isn't bad either but lacks a bit of moisture.-Don't bother with the chips, not very crispy.-Deep fried Calamari (Definitely get this! Chewy, Crispy and Tasty!)Views:-You get to look towards Coogee Beach, that's pretty amazing.Seating:-A bit cramped for space, better to have a take away and eat by the beach.

Been a customer here for over 20 years for a reason - the food is great. Best Tartar sauce we've had in Sydney (they refuse to give the recipe but state it's all in the mayo but I also taste the pickles and dill). The hot chips / fries are herbed and my personal favorite, the grilled baby octopus. The last time I ate here was the only time I had a bad meal at this place - they had added a tonne of dried chili and the meat was so tough it gave me a headache from the hard chewing. But that is one bad meal in 20 years. Consistently good. A little pricey, but considering the rents in Coogee it's a concession you pay. You never leave hungry, that's for sure. Though I do wish they made grilled mussels, too. If you want to buy grilled mussels, you have to go to Maroubra Junction which is several suburbs over. Highly recommended.

Check out the reviews as this is another shop that pretends to serve fish and chips. Why do we have rubbish seafood takeaway in some of Sydney's coastal hotspots. Absolutely embarrassing. Greasy and tasteless. Pretty hard to work out what is inside the batter. This ranks as the second worst seafood takeaway I've been to (the worst is at Bronte). Eat elsewhere.

We ordered the children's fish and chips and two of the three we received had rotten fish in them. They smelled like garbage. When we notified the staff they just stared blankly at us. Finally they suggested they would give us a refund. The guy behind the counter said I'm not responsible for the fish". No apology or anything. Pretty horrible. Obviously they don't care and they don't have children or any family or friends who do. If they did they would understand looking after a sick toddler due to their inattention to the food product they sell has some serious gravity. STAY AWAY from Chish and Fips in Coogee. They are gross and they don't care about their customers at all. Disgusting."

Had to give one star to leave comments but even one star is too good for this place. $45 for a medium chips, 3 sodas and 3 pieces of frozen fish is not what I call great value. The fish was dry, and out of the three pieces probably a third of one piece was edible. Chips were godawful. Oil probably hadn't been changed since my grandfather was in a cot! Tried to feed it all to the seagulls but even they were fussy.Never again.
