Nhu Lan Bakery

Supposedly has the best banh mi in Melbourne… As a visitor I wouldn’t know… BUT I can say that their banh mi are pretty damn good, with a great selection of fillings. I got one roast pork, and one bbq pork to share.

I recently tried their roast pork Banh Mi ($9), and I have mixed feelings about the experience. The size of the sandwich was disappointingly small, with about 5-6 small pieces of meat, including cracklings. Additionally, I couldn't taste any pate, which is usually a highlight for me in a Banh Mi.On a positive note, the bread was fresh and had a satisfying crispiness to it. The salads, particularly the pickles, were delicious and had a great flavor. I appreciated that they weren't overly tangy, which is my personal preference.I don’t think I will come back again, the location is not convenient for me, and I've had better Banh Mi experiences at other places like Ban Ban Bakery.

The Banh Mi is famous in and amongst Melbourne foodies and there is usually a massive line just to get into the bakery so it's well worth a visit.We got here on a rainy day in COVID lockdown so there were only 4 people a head of us. BBQ Pork Roll & Crackling Pork Roll were great and the baguette was exceptional. The rolls for Banh Mi were small but the price is cheaper too, of you're really hungry but 2. Overall my usual Banh Mi joint beats the overall quality (taste) and size (message me for details if interested) but this place was very, very good too especially the bread which I would definitely go back for. Staff are very kind and friendly as you would know from the lovely Asian community...

Really nice rollsA little bit hyped up, definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.. Wouldn’t travel across the city for it though..Delicious salad, nice meats, crispy and fresh bun.. Big line but really fast and nice service ..Smaller serves than most but also cheaper than most rolls so it’s quite fair … Get two if you’re hungry :)

I've been going to Như Lan since I was a lad and the food hasn't changed. The delicious crunch of the freshly baked bread, the smooth savouriness of the pate, the sweet and sour of the picked carrots and radishes. I've never passed Như Lan without surrendering to the allure of the place.

It is as good as they say. Everytime you come here, long lines, passing by the fronts of shops a couple doors down.I don't know what it is, whether it's their particular kind of cha lua, or their pate or butter, but everything together is just... Perfect.Looks don't do it justice. Try it out and you will see.

A popular Vietnamese bakery in Footscray. The staff are pretty friendly and they offer items. I had the crackling pork banh mi which was not bad but nothing special. Overall check it out if you’re in the area.

No fanciness is needed ... Simplicity and no nonsense under $10.00.Their Bahn Mi is just too easy to enjoy ... crispy pork and extra chillies is the way to go ...

My Best Banh mi in Melbourne!!The bread is crispy and light. I have bbq pork and all the filling amount and sauce so good.the price is cheap as well! almost 8-9$.
