Seymours Swim School

Strange setup as the pool is located in a suburban street at the rear of a home.Interestingly, it works. It works very well.Run by two sisters for many years and still going.Still operating a pen and paper system but seems to work acceptable. Teaching very young children the fundamental basis of swimming and no fear of water is commendable. The small classes, which give the children one on one coaching by very good and patient instructors is very good for the children.My daughter had no fear of water since attending only a few classes and has confidence in attempting anything the instructor asks of her.No floaties ever. This was my first reason for taking her to Seymours.Do I recommend this school of swimming?Absolutely YES!Have to reconsider my recommendationIgnorance can sometimes be unfortunate. Not got the ignorant but for those who are up to date with reality.It was hailing with thunder and a torrential downpour. Out of respect, I stayed outside until I could no longer. I sat inside as close as possible to the door with the nearest person to me was about 10 meters away. No one around me.I was then approached by the only male instructor at the pool from within the pool. “ Hey mate, do you have your vaccination certificate?” To which I said “”no I don’t.” With a condescending “ You’ll have to go outside, as your not vaxed!” I calmly said ”I have only come in as the weather outside is intolerable and I’m sitting here away from everybody.”A few more words were exchanged and I said “ I don’t have Covid but you might, so I should be afraid of you as you may have Covid. His ignorant and misinformed answer “ I’m double vaccinated and I can’t have Covid. You might compromise me.”I was stunned at his lack of intelligence. I actually thought he was more intelligent than he had led me to believe.

Having a teacher shout infront of the whole pool during classes saying shut that kid up
