Bright's Old Fashioned Lolly Shop
I was going in with my partner to get us some sweets as a treat, but the lady with grey hair had overcharged us 23, when it was only 11 for two sour candies and two marshmallows. Not until we had left the store for approximately 1 minute did we realize she had maybe miscalculated, but when we went in and mentioned it to her, she immediately seemed defensive about the overpricing which makes me think we’ve been scammed. Might I add she didn’t even offer us a receipt, which the fact we didn’t have one was one of her excuses. Sweet retreats is much more pleasant and the customer service is a lot more welcoming!

The lady in this shop traumatised my child and four other friends all under the age of 11 when they walked into her store to spend some pocket money on a Saturday afternoon. After reading the no food inside sign and realising that the youngest (a 6 year old) was bringing in lollies from the shop down the road, the 10 year old went to take her bag and wait outside only to be accused of shoplifting, locked inside, told to put away his phone and not to call his parents. Unbelievably she then forced the children to purchase something to “make up for it”. The children had not done anything wrong and the lollies she accused them of stealing were not ones she stocked. Do not shop at this store and do not send your kids in unattended. I would suggest she relies on tourists who only ever visit once so does not need to treat people with kindness but she should not be in business. No one should treat kids the way she does and get away with it. It only gets one star because I can’t post a zero star review.

This lady does not have the personality to run any business yet alone a lolly shop ,I have never left a bad review on any business as I understand the ramifications of one however we have come to bright for years and for whatever reason we keep returning to receive the same rude behaviour literally every time , rude to children and adultsFirst time I assumed she might be having a bad day definitely not!Move on love your not cut out for retail

The moment you get inside the shop you can’t hold yourself by buying something for you.It reminds me my childhood when I was so crazy for these lollies. This store got all the option you can have for these lovely lollies. The lady on the counter was so nice and helpful with her advice. If you are visiting to Bright you must visit to this beautiful shop around the corner and you’ll have a lot of option with sweet lollies and couple of gift options as well.Loved the place and I’ll definitely visiting this place in my next visit.

The owner of this shop wrongly accused my 6 yo of stealing because she bought a lolly in from another shop. She locked my kids in the shop and forced them to pay for things. We had to call police due to unlawful detainment of children. Do not let your children go there.

My family and I went here on our last day in Bright and we were greeted very nicely by a nice lady with grey hair. The selection wasn't amazing but I found exactly what I wanted. My 1 year old son was so tired and ready to head home and he was crying so she gave him something to cheer him up and he was so excited and happy. I was very greatful. Great customer service and well presented store.

a genuinely traumatic experience for our group of 5 kids - aged 6 to 11 - who were accused of shoplifting and then separated with some kids locked in the store and told they were not allowed to use their phone to call an adult.the distraught kids were only allowed to leave after they agreed to purchase a whole bunch of lollies.the police confirmed that this is not an isolated incident with this shopkeeper and from now reading the reviews on google and facebook it is obvious that this women has some serious issues and is certainly not fit to be running a shop that may have unaccompanied children attending.it is particularly bizarre that someone so bitter would think being in retail (lollies of all things!) is a good idea.

This shop was disappointing mostly from the poor customer service - which can be so easy to fix. The product offering is pretty good and reasonably priced. Parking is on the Main Street and at peak periods can be very busy.

The woman in this shop is rude to all the customers (adults and kids) and the lollies are overpriced. I am not sure why you would be running a lolly shop when you are so grumpy all the time. She wouldn’t even let some teenagers read the ingredients on a packet when they could be allergic to something.Go to the Bright Sweet Shop instead where you will get better service and a smile

On holiday with my family. We came into this store with the intention on have a great experience, when my 3 year old excitedly picked out the lollies she wanted. As another member of tried to take a photo of her, the lady in the store had place her hand on my child moving her out of the way, telling us the the lollies would break. (I do have a photo with her hand on my child)This is the most disgusting experience I have every received. If you don’t want children touching things don’t work in this kind of industry. We left the store and went to the one down the road which was absolutely fantastic!!I will never return to this store and if I ever see people entering I would more then happily send them away.
