Oakleigh South Primary School

My daughter is in grade one and absolutely loves her fellow students and teachers. From her main teachers to all the other teachers she’s dealt with in prep and grade 1, have been fantastic. Highly recommend this school and thank the teachers for their ongoing support.

We are so blessed to be able to send our 2 girls to Oakleigh South Primary School. Their teachers are all nurturing, compassionate and professional. The senior staff including Principal Ron Cantlon has set a high standard for the school, pushing every student to excel in their areas of potential. Most importantly, every child is respected and feels safe in this school. It is truly a number 1 state school!

Despite the school being really big, the teachers know each and every child and it has such a great community feel. Feels like one big family!Such a great school with so many opportunities. The sports program as well as the focus on health is fantastic!

It is so big! I would not go there now with all the students. Yes it does have good results but if you send your child there they will have an awful experience. Very bad I do not support it.

All my 4 children go to this school. They go to school very happy and come home equally as happy.Teachers are creative and both My sons and daughters are well educated.I came here as a child and was the same experience

Well we couldn’t get our kid enrolled as we were out of the zone. But for anyone who is interested you could have enrolled your child to the school for 2022 if you were within 1.7 km radius.

Great school infrastructure, down to earth principal, very connected to the ground level of activities to manage them most efficiently.I would recommend the frontline staffs, specially admission/reception staffs can have better courtesy while talking to parents to avoid any unintentional rude or stun behaviour.Also, it would be great to provide sufficient training to relatively new staffs, like Miss Bethany Bonham, for focused efforts and attention to kids’ growth as well as to avoid any favouritism to specific kids or parents.Overall, great experience, more funding allocated to the school by the government so I’m confident about its appropriate usage for further improvements to the school.Big cheers..!

Not happy with the school. Over crowded school, I complained about bullying, no appropriate action was taken. Teachers are overwhelmed with the amount of work that they don’t have time to look bullying issues. Now I’m looking to change school.

Best School Ever!! Kids love it. Facilities always improving. Prep to Grade 2 teachers were all amazing, kids loved them and loved going to school.Parents parking is a nightmare though, and is only getting worse since the school has grown. Could be stuck until 3:50 before can exit in the car, that's over 15 minutes waiting. Council has zones the streets around there as 2 minute and Resident Permit, and council officers hide behind trees and cars and in blackened window cars with cameras ready to take pics of parents dropping off.

It's a fantastic school. My son studied here from pre till Grade4 and had a very nice experience. The education is top class with number of tailored programs like Accelerated Reading, Maths and English groups and google classroom remote study platform. Teachers and staff are some of nicest people you will meet and they know each an every kids in class and where the kids are strong at and where they need to work upon. Communication over emails, online platforms is spot on and you never really feel lost.Annual Fate, extra curricular activities are all covered, Run and swimming clubs, Post school paid sports (basketball, tennis and soccer) are also worth it and hassle free. School also has nice before and after care facility and team working there are all nice and accommodating.Overall we were very happy with the school, the management and have very high respect for Mr. Ron Cantlon for his excellent leadership here.
