Jenny Beauty Make-up & Hair Art - Best Makeup and Hair Melbourne

I booked a hair and makeup three months in advance and had paid a deposit, then when I got to the salon there was no record of my booking. The salon was overbooked and there were a few people in the chairs getting their hair or makeup done and another girl waiting. I got to there ten minutes early and didn’t get seen to until fifteen minutes after the booking time. The first part of the appointment was the skincare which didn’t feel very professional and I even had to do some steps of it myself as they were so busy. The vibe of the salon felt like an assembly line and about making as much money as possible, not like a place that an artist takes pride in their work. I overheard people saying they were late for their events and a different girl tried to get a refund on her deposit as she had been sitting and waiting over an hour. I did a LOT of waiting around in the 2 hours I was there and the makeup and hair was rushed. Only a small amount of time was actually spent on the service - most of the time was spent waiting due to the overbooking issue. I asked for my hair to have movement but instead it was all teased up with a huge amount of hairspray and gel and was really hard and stiff, not at all what I showed in the photo. The makeup application was okay but the base colour was too pale and the eye and lip colours did not suit me. I had a bunch of surcharges added at the register and paid well over what I expected to which was disappointing as I was unhappy and also late to my event. I had to redo my eye makeup and lips at home (as well as adding bronzer because I was so pale) as the colours did not suit me.Jenny does have a skill but is rude to clients from what I witnessed in the salon and she doesn’t take the time to listen to their needs at all. She was also talking badly about clients to me when they left which I found so rude. I wish I’d asked for a refund too like the review before me, as it was the worst appointment I’ve ever had. I would not return here ever.

Warning & Reason: Do not make an initial deposit with this stylistMade a booking for Monday to get bridal hair done with Jenny, as most hair salons wouldn’t do it or are closed on Mondays. She requested for deposit to be paid prior to the appointment, I agreed to it but she never actually gave any details to bank in or transfer to. (Do not make the deposit, as I understood why she asked for it after attending the appointment)During the appointment, Jenny was extremely rude, condescending and demeaning. She was complaining about how she wouldn’t take on a hair appointment alone without doing make up for the bride as well. She repeatedly “warns” me about how the hairdo would not turn out nice and was very condescending when she said it. I told her I would accept the outcome as it is, but she kept repeating the “warning” in an angry manner many times over.I finally realised that it wasn’t worth my time and money to pay someone who was so angry before even beginning the job. I figured she wanted to scare me into dropping my make up appointment with another make up artist, so that she can make more money out of my appointment. None of the warnings and complaints from her was made when prior to the appointment with her, and she was just really angry and rude during the appointment.When I decided to walk out, she was angry and said to me that she was willing to take the appointment without initial deposit (which was also not my fault because she didn’t collect it) So beware & do not pay the initial deposit prior to the appointment because she is a very rude person & probably had many people walk out on her, which is why she was the one and only stylist who requested for an initial deposit prior to the appointment.

I went to book my bridal appointment with her today, she was super rude and her way of treating was so pathetic. There was another bride there and seems like she was so afraid to show her makeup preference to jenny. She said to me to go find another makeup artist as I asked her for 5$ discount. I was intouch with her from august and got the appointment to give her some deposit, because I wanted to get my makeup done from her, but her way of treating was so bad that i left. I went to her because because her reviews were good, but my experience is so bad that not going to recommend to anyone.

I came in for my birthday, at 1:30pm. There was 3-4 people already getting their hair and make up done for a bridal party. I was told that the mini facial is included if I did both hair and make up, which I didn’t. I got a quick facial by her assistant and then was seated for 30 minutes to a hour, around 2:30pm I asked how much longer it would be as I have been waiting for a hour and asked for a refund if services for the make up itself began past 3pm. She stopped and came towards me and said she will get back to me shortly, then 5-10 minutes later she began to apply my make up and rushed it, getting concealer/foundation into my eyelash extensions. The make up was rushed and was nothing like the reference photo, I showed her a pink glossy make up but she gave me pink matte make up. The other clients she had were telling her that they would be late and I told her, you can do their make up first if you want. She kept telling them it’s fine and that she was nearly done with mine. I was immediately unhappy with my make up especially since i did offer to leave if she refunded me instead of her doing my make up. The whole time she would just refer to me as her or point to me when talking to her assistant. Although she was trying to be friendly it just wasn’t what I hoped as I saw she had very good reviews. I could tell her make up skills were good but not $115 worth for 15 minutes.It is not my responsibility that she overbooked and fell behind, then did my make up first and caused other clients to be late to a wedding. I wanted to ask for a refund immediately but I didn’t want the clients to be even more late and/or follow me and ask for a refund as well. So I came back later and she looked at me so rudely and began to look at her friend and gave her a look. Right in front of me, when I asked for a refund she didn’t even question why or say anything. She just gave me my money back, I was really upset as I paid $115 for 10/15 minutes worth of treatment and she didn’t hear me out as to why I was unhappy. I just took my partial refund of $65 and left, as soon I left I could hear her screaming and pointing.I would’ve still came back again if she just heard me out or attempted to fix my make up but she didn’t.

The care she takes with knowing exactly what your skin needs, to the perfect make-up she applies that totally suits you (which lasted all day and night, I loved so much I didn't want to wash it off) and then, she even has awesome ideas for beautiful modern hairstyles that when she's finished, you feel like a movie star.
