Borg dental was called out to my dental practice to repair a frayed connection to my ultrasonic unit. Before coming they asked for a photo of the unit so they could understand the problem, and bring the correct parts with them. A photo was taken and sent to their reception, and this photo showed the frayed parts, and brand name of the unit.It was a repair that I could have done myself, but I wanted a professional to repair it well.The repair person came in two days time, but purely for a 30 second look to assess the problem, even though it was photographed and acknowledged.The repair serviceman came back two days later again and repaired the item (it broke a week later, requiring a further fix, I then used a better but less expensive repair person, who in fact repaired a deeper more integral component of the problem).Anyway, Borg's account then came along, for $583.00 inclusive of GST and a $160.00 call out fee (for the 30 seconds look, despite the photo being asked for and sent as requested).The component was $220-00 (mark up included), return Fee (?) $80.00, and 0.5 of time in surgery $140.00 (their charges are $35.00 per 0.25 hrs +GST, so 0.5 units of time seems to mean 1 hour??)I have been mulling this over, and today I have written to Borg and the principal Mr Borg, has written back (through his receptionist), that the $160-00 stands. A diagnosis issue.I think this is a rip off.Further, the serviceman who attended was particularly abrasive and unpleasant, and was quick to say bad luck mate" when I suggested that "we had sent a photo
