I can't speak for the charity side of the business, but the op shop really isn't worth the time. I visited about once a month as part of my op shopping routine and this one had little to no turnover and they just had no idea what they had. Most of the stuff is junk from places like Kmart and Big W that they're trying to sell for 3x what it would cost brand new, as well as lots of appliances that are untested and frankly dangerous to be selling to the public. A lot of stuff was also just broken, cracked ceramics and stained clothes and such that they were still trying to flog as if they were new, as well as weird stuff like coffee jars for 5 dollars each. Who would pay 5 bucks for someones recycling? The furniture seemed more reasonable but the turnover is so sluggish that if you don't find anything you want the first time you go there's absolutely no reason to go back. Its a shame to be slamming a local charity, and I do believe the charity side of the business is much better run, but as a shopper there's really no reason to go here unless you're planning on patronizing their other events or services. It's unreasonably expensive and the selection is so poor.

I came to them as a struggling single mother. Was referred to them by another service after leaving a DV situation. When I called them & explained what was happening & that I needed help getting furniture, they asked me to come in. I explained I was a disabled person & that I would struggle to come in but I’d work it out. I asked them if there was any forms I needed to fill out & they said yes but you have to come in for them & I needed to tell them “my story” to qualify. I was desperate for help & for furniture for myself & my baby. When I came in I was taken into a back room alone with a man & my child. This was extremely uncomfortable for me as I asked on the phone for a female social worker. This social worker then proceeded to make comments like ”did you file police reports?” “But it didn’t hit you” ect while I was telling them what happened to me. He then asked me what I needed furniture wise. I handed him a list of the essentials. He told me “I don’t think you’ll be a high enough priority to get this stuff but if you give me your name & number I’ll call you tomorrow” we then left. I never received a call back, I called a couple of times but never got through or a call back because “he was out of the office”DONT GO HERE. THEYLL JUST INVALIDATE YOU & MAKE YOU FEEL EMBARRASSED

Survivors R Us provide an incredible service to the community. Each and every staff member is helpful, kind and supportive. I've always been treated with respect and compassion when using their services. I strongly recommend seeking help and using their services if you are in need.

great for cheap groceries and second hand goods! heaps of cool stuff at decent prices! it takes at least an hour to go through everything because it's so huge!Definitely better prices than most big op shops (Salvos/Vinnies) and you're supporting such a great cause for DV victims! Staff are lovely too

EXPLOITING THE POOR!! that have very little choice there isn’t much variety in food it’s over processed junk. it’s also over priced sure you can get one bag for $14 that’s the only “decent thing” but again there’s no healthy meal in that. Or even a dinner or lunch they admit they get all the food donated yet charge a normal piece for any other items other than that one bag for $14 that you’d get at Woolworths for the same price you can’t get doubles of anything for example only one can of lentils you can’t feed a family on one can of Lentils the one dollar rack can’t even be sorted out and made easier to find items. I would have taken a photo of this overly priced child’s plastic seat that was dirty and old for $15 dollars but your not allowed to take photos NO WONDER there was a disgusting brown recliner that looks like someone had passed away on for $80 dollars!! Something you wouldn’t even pick up from the side of the road also advocating for domestic violence yet I see on this review of a women’s privacy being violated and thoughtlessly put a women alone in a room with a man very unprofessional seems to be something with the owner going on as there’s definitely no remorse for hungry family’s especially in this cost of living situation going on atm instead of replying to comments 5 months ago that your working on it start tomorrow. People are hungry today
