You wouldn't think any legal aid would actually help you win. But these guys have defended me valiantly many times and even helped obtain victory in bitter dispair. Lovely people.

First I want to give review readers a heads up, particularly those whose trauma may be compounded when they repeatedly describe their situation to one service after the next, only to be refused help... QAI are often simply at capacity" and can't take you on. I get the impression that being told any different on first contact with them is a bit like winning the lottery.Still

Spoke with a person, who arranged a law professional to call me. The law professional did not provide any help at all, only gave me information I am already aware of, which can be found online. There was no offer of referral or representation, despite the fact that I have a very legitimate case, supported with much evidence. Disgrace to law profession and nfp advocacy. Appears justice no longer exist in Australia. I wonder if they are actually helping anyone? Also discovered that a lawyer who acted with misconduct towards me a few years ago and put me in a very difficult situation, is now working at QAI. I was later compensated for the matter I sought assistance with, but not from the law firm where this lawyer worked. I am a victim of stalking for several years, professional misconduct, people who have prevented course of justice. Much evidence exist. The extensive distress for many years, has caused damage to my health.

I was unable to get support with serious ongoing abuse. This is not because these people do not want to help. It is because they are overstretched to the max and governments impose restrictive black and white boxes around what they will help, which leaves anyone in a situation the funders or legislators couldn't conceive out in the cold.I also know of fantastic work that many of the staff here are responsible for.I'm too sick to lobby for more funding and QAI calls for mare support often goes unheard. The lawyers and others that work there are very dedicated and work for much lower salaries than they can get elsewhere. If you can motivate more lobbying for increased funding, please do so

They refused to help me. It was like they could not bothered. I have a disability and instead of trying to assist me or at the very least refer me to someone who could help they wiped their hands of me
